Looking for some advice on the following - I want to make a pivot back to client services, specifically advisory/consulting/transaction services. I have 4 years public accounting experience, and 3.5 years manager experience within the corporate controllership function, both technical and SEC reporting related (more technical than SEC). One bad long term project would make you feel stuck there
All long term projects here s d can confirm it’s like a normal job
Yeah my first job ever in Consulting was being staffed on a 5 year engagement... things seemed pretty easy after the 1 year mark. Needless to say, got a new job now and I’m struggling to keep up with the reality of consulting and being staffed on short projects. Learning curve is quite steep.
In my experience, shorter projects tend to bring more stress as deadlines are tighter; in addition, when I am staffed on short term projects, I tend to be put on multiple short term projects versus when I am on a long-term project where I only have to focus on that one project.
Short term projects can be fun. You get to meet and work with different teams/people. But I hate the downtime between short term projects. Feel very stressful reaching out to different people asking for projects every few months.
