Has anyone successfully used a gmat waiver? (Either just been approved or was approved and you also got in). For context looking at Ross and some stats are below: 690 gmat for now (taking 1-2 more times) CPA 5 YOE, 3 audit 2 FDD. Manager effective 10/1 UG GPA: 3.3 big 10 school Post mba goal : BB IB Wondering if I should try to apply for the waiver on basis of having CPA? Will not use this as my explanation but trying to study in this m&a market has been rough…
Want to get a gift for my brother who's starting his MBA this year. Any suggestions? Things that you would have liked to have - or had during your MBA that helped with student living/travel/etc?
Is it worth getting PMP, Scrum, CSCP?
For MBA apps will it hinder or help you if you provide a list of other MBA programs you are looking into besides the one you are currently applying for?
Considering obtaining a CFE certification. Can anyone share their experience vs experience obtaining CPA? I’m already a CPA. I just want a comparison of study time requirement and difficulty of exam.
Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.
Has any of the MBB been doing much work in public sector since the onset of pandemic? Would they be willing to hire someone with exclusively public sector experience of +6 years and an MBA from Canada? Asking because during the MBA recruitment, public sector experience was not helpful as MBB didn't focus there a lot.
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Any insight on pay and WLB at the major boutique firms (Avascent, Renaissance, Fairmont, CSP, etc)? Might be interested in transitioning to the A&D sector. 2 years post-MBA in M&A consulting and I have ~7 years government experience prior to b-school and previously held a TS/SCI. TIA Avascent
I am CFP,CPA,MBA looking to expand my practice. I'm located in PA and interested in speaking to advisors that are looking to sell their practice. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
Why do big 4 people go get a top MBA and join big 3 consulting firm instead of internally move to advisory service/consulting?
Considering leaving Bain with 2 years in SM role, HSW MBA, and 11 years since undergrad. Google role is non-technical Cloud Strategy. Unsure of title or level at this point - called "lead" but contact indicated flexibility. Would be remote in a non-SF/NY location. Mgr indicated it was technically an individual contributor role though I would be managing 2 people. What comp/level should I expect (Assuming L6?)? What is the significance of the IC role if I'm technically managing 2?
Hello Fishes, Need your POV. I am an MBA and have 2.5 yr exp. in SAP Delivery. I am planning to move to SAP Bid manger role have an offer in hand. Anyone here successfully navigated a specialty occupation H1B RFE for SOC CODE 15-1299.09 Information Technology Project Manager?
hey all, i’m 3 years into my career. some decent work produced, some awards (mostly student). after getting laid off last fall and many many applications and emails sent, I’ve decided to spend time and money on a creative PR stunt to get my dream agencies’ attention. I’ve decided I don’t want to settle any longer, and I’m ready to make the jump to the elite. so people that have made it to their dream agencies: when did it happen for you, what made it happen, and was it everything you hoped for?
Has anyone ever given more than 2 weeks notice at the senior level? From conversations with my peers, it sounds like 75% are interviewing currently with the goal to transition before busy season. I just want to put my team in a decent position to replace me before this potential mass exodus of seniors from my group.
Had a dream where I was in an alternate reality. Everyone hated me, I had been fired from Deloitte for incompetence, and I was somehow part-owner of an Arena Football team. What the hell does that mean
Does it hurt your interview / career at Facebook, Snap, Twitter etc. if you don’t have an account personally? I’m interested in applying to these companies but am a very private person that prefers not to be on social media myself.
I somehow managed to clear the interview and bagged an offer in a emerging product based company but now I'm scared 😕😕. This is a new technology that I learnt and no hands on also... Will I be thrown away post joining once they find out..... My YOE 4. Is it safe to look for a service based itself😢😢
The travel gods have smiled upon me: Equipment change from old UA metal in 2-4-2 international biz to real UA Polaris 1-2-1. ORD-FRA
Hello UK fishes 🐟: any of you work at Deliveroo? Looking to gain insight into the company culture and opportunities. TIA
Headed back to a client site for the first time since February 2020. What do people even wear anymore?! I feel like a kid playing dress up. Help.
My gf got a referral at Accenture and put her application in 10 days ago. She’s wondering how long turnaround time typically is and if she should’ve heard by now. I said it could take a month before they look at it but she’s still stressed. Anyone know typical turnaround time at Accenture
Can anyone please share insights on Schengen tourist visa to Germany from the US? Specifically looking for 1. how long it’ll take to approve and get the visa and 2. do you need an invitation letter?
What do you tell account team and clients when a junior team member (who was covering for someone who was on vacation) made mistakes so bad it's jeopardizing the client relationship?
When did you know that you want to have a kid(s) and what helped you decide to go for it? Not a mom but want to ask people With first hand experience. My BF is sure he wants them and I did too until I did the research on cost of childcare, lifestyle changes, and most importatntly the impact on career (my BF says family stays with you but works don't. I love work for the sense of achievement). Now I am leaning toward childfree. I would really appreciate your thoughts and advice!
Would love to connect with a social strategist that has pharma/healthcare knowledge. Open positions at MRM in Princeton.
I don't understand the concept of receiving a 4 on Year End (and getting laid off). There is no set percentage to give people 4's and 5's right? How does one mess up that badly?
As a new product manager what books should I be reading? I’ve already read Inspired but looking or more. For context, I’ve joined a series A start up and as expected there’s a lot to do and it’s very fluid. I want to be able to help the head of product as much as possible as well as provide some structure to how we work.
