Would you rather grow your career at Accenture Federal or Deloitte GPS? Just curious. And pls don’t say neither 😜

Having spent a good bit of time at Deloitte GPS earlier in my career, if things haven't changed for the better since then, I'd probably go with AFS.

Both are interchangeable in the grand scheme of things. They are the joint leaders in the federal tech space, both live off of large low margin body shop contracts that subsidize the rest of the org, and both regularly get hired to fix failed implementations from the other.

If there's a particular niche in federal IT that one is better at than the other (say, ML), then it would be worth targeting that one, but otherwise they're pretty much interchangeable from a competency perspective. From a client perspective, having been a senior fed who hired both multiple times over my career as a fed, they're also largely interchangeable.

From a culture perspective, Deloitte GPS tends to be pretty insufferable in my experience--lots of folks who live up to the Deloitte reputation here in FB. Firm initiatives and utilization calculations are also annoying, but I don't know what those are like at AFS.

From a reputational perspective in the fed space, it's six of one, half a dozen of another. As far as fed tech, their bread and butter, goes, they're identical. In other niches, there might be reputational differences, but not in the bulk of their work.

To reiterate, there's not much difference at the firm level, but I'd go with AFS.

Adding on--anecdotally, I've heard it's easier overall to make MD at AFS than it is to make PMD at Deloitte, but I don't know if that's actually the case. Either way, the percentage of people who stay around long enough to make either one is somewhere around the single digits.

At AFS, as an Analyst (L11/L10) I get overtime. It’s also not “up-or-out”, and we are not expected to contribute to BD or do any +1s if we don’t want to. I also like the culture of Accenture overall more (I got an offer from D GPS but didn’t vibe with the people as much). With that said, you really can’t go wrong with either imo.

im currently at Accenture federal and I’ve really been enjoying it. I joined my project in March 2021 and I’ll be getting my promotion to senior analyst this June. Here (and I’m sure Deloitte GPS) your experience seriously, truly depends on the team and client you end up with. But one thing that frustrates me about Accenture overall is that there’s only two promotion cycles

Which one pays more? Whose providing some clearance? Are you going to be working with something you know?

Deloitte GPS is what my friends in industry suggested to me has more pull/'prestige' in the industry hence why I joined here. That being said Accenture is no slouch (albeit maybe more sweaty?)

Also in terms of ‘prestige’, Accenture & Deloitte are potato/patata in the fed space. Accenture is probably better for tech exit ops while Deloitte is probably better for Corp Strat exit ops.

A few weeks ago I had a boss make fun of me on a call for looking “gloomy” and he wouldn’t let it go. He kept yelling in a joking way at me to ‘cheer up’ in front of others on a zoom call. I wasn’t being rude, just quieter that day, as I was going through a mental health issue. . It’s been eating at me the way he bullied me on call - should I say something ? I feel a 55 year-old man should’ve learned not to do this by now... don’t know how to come at it without seeming whiny WOC...

Plaintiff’s counsel wants to include the following language (expressed for purposes of this post in CAPS) in my client’s standard release, but I can’t tell if I should take an issue with it - thoughts?
“The amount of this settlement and terms of this settlement are confidential and may only be disclosed to Plaintiff’s attorneys, government agencies, or as otherwise required IN THE ORDINARY COURSE OF BUSINESS OR by law or court order.”

Hoping to get some advice here. I ran into credit card debt in my early 20s and I worked with someone who settled the debt on my behalf with my creditors. (He was referred to me by my sister who used him as well—we had a complicated financial upbringing.) Months of negotiations and many payments later, we finally finished and I was debt-free, yet more than a year later, the details on my credit report say no payments have been received. I called one of my creditors and the case manager CONT.
