Totally depends. Where do I live, do I have a spouse and how much do they make, do I have young kids?
I can tell you that I never met a dude with money who was NOT good looking - in my eyes at least!!!
$350K for sure. $120k is like lower middle class while $350k is upper middle class.
For all those picking $120k that work in public accounting...most likely you're over 120k and have plenty of options to find a 40 hour work week job that pays $120k or more, so why don't aren't you leaving?
I've been in PA for 15+ years, not at partner level, get paid $200k+ and work around 40 hours a week. Will work more if I need to, but I rarely put in 60 hours or more.
@kpmg...maybe you should leave audit. Audit is perfect Segway into consulting like FDD and you'll triple your salary within 5 years . In tax at my office, associates and seniors don't make up even 40%. Same was true when I was at Deloitte.
At average comp for a professional client service role is definitely well well well above 65k. Like double that if you're in MCOL or HCOL city
120. 70 hours a week is 14 hours a day to keep a weekend. You would hate your life in less then a year.
I've done this and I didn't get 350.
haha I think these responses don't count since they work 70anyway and get less than 120 in most cases so an extra 200k+ for something they already doing would seem like a no brainer
70 hour week with about 3-4 weeks of vacation each year? I don’t think I can do that even for $350K.
What if I took the $350 and just claimed to be working 70?
Taking note…. Lmao
$120K. I have young kids, my time with them is precious.
Chief
120k and if I wanted to I can work another 30 hours doing something else that makes me more if I wanted to.
KPMG 1, never underestimate the only fans earnings
Early in my marriage it occurred to we that if my wife realized I could have made 120k in a government job working 40s I would have needed to take it.
We have enjoyed the financial stability of a career as a partner but maybe we would have been happier.
EY31 - new pension plan definitely allows partners to leave easier - the pension just isn't as good. Newer partners that continue to late 50s should have very healthy pension
Easy - $120K. I have a life, and family, and friends, and hobbies that are all more important than money.
Lol if I was making 350 working such long hours I would have difficulty saving. Everything I do id be like I have so little free time I rather pay a premium (I.e Uber everywhere, eat out).
350 for 3 years, then drop to 120
Best answer right here
If you make 350K, but live like you make 120k and save the rest earning 4%, you would have about 2.8M in 10 years. It would take the guy making 120k a year 23.3 years just to make enough money in earnings to equal your savings. Manage 7% and you are closer to 3.3M. You could retire in 10 years with little change in the standard of living you are accustomed to.
You’ve heard of income taxes or maybe not file and hope for the best? $350K is $250K after tax in many states. Family of 4 with kids in activities and decent vacations is not inexpensive. This is the devil’s choice. Life would be unfulfilling under either choice.
Like 70 hours a week every week all year? That’s a bit much
120. There is no way I could do 70 hours a week year round.
$350k easy, I can afford any nanny, cleaner, etc. So I can appreciate the little free time.
You really can’t appreciate the free time cause that’s your only window to sleep 😭
$120k. And I currently make close to $300k 🙂
That’s sweet. You might be coasting for huge money
$350k thats a lot of money
Bet on yourself and you’ll make more than $350K
Can I get 200k for 50 hours?
Isn't this essentially asking "do you want to become a partner?" 350/70 seems somewhat close to what some partners might make/work at some firms.
You've clearly never worked with partners before if you think they're working only 40 hour weeks.
Can I take 350K work 40 hour and give 100K to a A2 let them work 30 hour🤣 win win
You found the loop hole in the question 🤯
$120k. I'm single with no dependents and no debts, so $120k is more than enough. I don't work in a department with a real busy season so I'm usually working 45 - 50 hours a week at my busiest. I think I did one 70+ hour week since I started and that just about killed me, I don't know how people pull 90+ hours. $350k is nothing to sneeze at but I hated my life so much during that 70+ hour week that I will never voluntarily go back to that... I mean, unless the question were about making $40k a year for 40 hours instead of $120k.
