After getting laid off due to Covid I got a nice job in industry, jumped a few titles and got a nice raise in salary. I like the new job because it’s less demanding than consulting, but also don’t like it because often times I’m bored - anyone else experience this? I also think I’ll be able to create my own projects in the next couple months too so I’ll be able to fix the bored issue

How do you navigate a raise conversation when your salary is below your title’s pay band but the company has been in a raise/promotion freeze since Covid hit?

Currently making $250K all-in as a Finance Director but only got 3% increase this past review. My pay was down 5% due to COVID last year, so from 2020 to 2022 my pay is flat. Should I start looking to move? I don't have any complaints with the work I have and $250K jobs don't grow on trees, but it's hard to swallow essentially no pay increases over 2 years in a high interest rate environment

Short story… office with ~60 people, and everyone is vaccinatted. One person found out they had covid after going to the doctor for something else. Everyone got tested even though we don’t work close to this person. At the end, 4 people had covid (can’t say they got it from the first person who was diagnosed with it) and everyone else was negative.

While it sucks that several people had covid, nobody had symptoms and it didn’t spread to everyone. This is why I got vaccinated

Im all for masking but having to wear one in the gym is so brutal. As a sweaty guy it feels like being waterboarded

I worked as a pastry chef for 5 years then I left my last kitchen job just before COVID. Ended up in a work from home administrative director position where I have gained a lot of experience.

Worth it to sue for severance and lost pay if employer sent you an email that they’re accepting your “resignation effective immediately” — I didn’t resign— as a cost effective way to terminate the position without the burden of paying what would have been a hefty severance? Wanting to hear pros and cons from folks who may have had similar experiences in past.
