Anyone in Denver?
Great posts this week everyone
Hi Amazonians,
I am looking for guidance.
I am going to start interview process with Amazon next week. Probably all rounds will be done in 1-2 day time frame.
How/what should I prepare for interview?
Am clueless on what kind of ds & algo questions, system design questions are asked in Amazon interviews.
My techstack: javascript developer- react+Angular.
1. Pls guide me on what/how to prepare?
2. Also, will the interview be solely on da & algo and javascript; or on Js frameworks?

Agreed. They’re giving you an idea of what next steps look like. It’s up to you to decide if you’re OK with that or if you’ll make a go of it elsewhere.
Tell them you have internal conflicts with the proposition
If your job is truly internal facing you might want consider other departments that have external value if you are not happy. And if you are questioning the fact that your job is internal maybe chat with your boss if you are confused.
OP if it’s a digital/ traditional disconnect with management and you are digital. Bail ASAP. Management that values traditional over digital in 2019 will take entire agencies down with them before they evolve.
“Internal facing”? Do you have greyscale and will scare the clients? If you’re creative or account (Versus Project management, eg) you should always try to reach the point where you’re interacting with clients and being a “public face” of your agency...that’s a key part of those jobs.
My former manager said something similar. “If you want more money and a promotion, you’ll have to go elsewhere” was opening line on Day 1 as an employee... Any department with “a ceiling” and no clear next steps forward for talented, smart people isn’t a sustainable role. I’d also venture to say those ceilings are made up to benefit self interest of company... in my experience it was and I eventually left because I wanted to grow. No shame in pursuing what is best for you! 👍
Could be an issue with the manager. If you’re talented and have dreams of growth (assuming this is a company you love) - see if you can create your own role for the future and connect with other team leads on supporting that vision.
Time to go. This person doesn't seem to be interested in investing in you to help you grow, so there's no reason you should feel compelled to stay. I'd start having conversations sooner than later
You dont need to know reason. The key component of the message is that they told you that you have hit a ceiling. Move on.

Nope.
Get that resume out there
There are internal facing roles beyond finance in this industry? Who knew.
Yeah. Internal comms. Smh.
Wow. This just happened to me. I left and got way more respect, opportunities, and $$$ 🤑
No, I left agency life and went back to journalism. But really, that doesn’t matter. My old boss told me that the path was “narrow,” and preached that until the day I left. I decided that no one is allowed to put me in a box. I say how far and wide that I will go. Believe me, you can do the same, whether you choose to go to another agency or not. What’s most important is that you go where you are celebrated. #PutSomeRespectOnMyCheck

There may not currently be budget for higher non-billable roles. Internal roles are a profitability game until the billable roles can shake more money out of clients.
I’d stay until you’re ready to move up. Then it sounds like you’ll have to move on. But no need to rush that if you’re happy for now.
No
Sounds like a media or analytics role.
