Why on god’s green earth would I do that? If I get to work 4 days a week, maybe. But it’s painfully clear right now that WFH doesn’t mean you’ll work less.
Not if I’m doing the same amount of work. Right now I’m working remote and doing about 20% more. And the agency could downsize their office along with salaries? Sounds like a win for agencies, not employees. I’m not saving that much by wfh.
I much prefer wfh and it’s a new role so I’m unsure of workload.
There are remote opportunities now that will pay you the same level as being in office, so no, I won't take a decrease, I would switch jobs.

If it means you don’t get laid off, then sure.
What a depressing time to be an employee.
No. You’re doing the same job, doesn’t matter where you sit. It’s almost less convenient (for me at least) to not go in.
I think this is the way it’s ultimately (post Covid) going to be. Time has value. I’ve done the math. Most suburbanites have an hour commute (on avg). The hour+ train rides would save 2.5hrs a day. Extra time for family, gym, sleep, life in general. Cost of monthly train/bus/subway fare can be $400/mo easy. More potential $ saved if you eat out in the city most days. Easily another $100+ a week.
So, depending on what “partially remote” means, you wouldn’t trade potentially 12 extra hrs a week and $500-$800/mo in commutation savings for $20k (pre-taxes)?
Leave current location-- does your tax rate go down to make up for it? Also, what is that like $60 per paycheck less? Probably...yes...worth it.
Yes. In a heartbeat. Don’t confuse the value of money with how much more valuable your time is. 70 year old you will thank you
Possibly because think of the commute cost and time savings. But it also depends on base and where you live.
I’d say no. If the responsibilities remain the same, why sacrifice on salary?
In NYC that’s like $50 a paycheck after taxes. Definitely would.
What’s the work like?
It’s a very personal question. Will you be bitter making less? Do you value working remotely? Will removing the hassle of commuting raise your spirits?
I already did this. So did half of corporate America with pay checks and wfh
