Would you take a role at Wells Fargo that pays 50-60% more than your big 4 role? Wells Fargo seems to get a bad rep on here and am curious why. Figured WLB is a plus but growth may be sacrificed.

Bruh.. 50-60% is life changing. Who cares about rep. Take it, invest your money, keep your skills up, roll out if you hate it.

like

Yes you should take it and then take me with you when you get there!

Doing what?

Hmm. I’d give it a miss personally. I know it may be a lot of money staring at you. But there a better opportunities out there

I worked for Wells Fargo as a client and will never go back

God where DO I EVEN BEGIN?!?!?!? Never again.

60% raise?! Are you jumping several levels? Know people that work there and don’t think they’re that well paid ...

Just curious, what does 50-60% amount too? Also, did you tell them your current salary and they offer 50-60% more? Or did you ask for that amount?

75 -> 120 plus bonus. Did not ask for salary or job - someone there reached out.

Beware of mid/back office banking positions when the industry sees a 70% earnings dip in Q1. Especially at one of the more bloated banks ✂️

Thank you all! Feeling like the short term gains won’t outweigh the long term at big 4.

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?

At a new firm and right away I knew I wasn’t going to get along with one partner. Had a conflict with one of his associates early on. Everyone else is cool. Got into it with the partner and he told me he didn’t need my help on his matters anymore. The cool associates are still asking if I can pitch in cause they’re swamped. I’m a nice guy (despite what the partner and uncool associate may say), so I’m helping out. I’m the guy that gets fired and shows up the next day. Results TBD.
