Brown bottle flu after a late night Thursday flight has been known to occur.

Not unless you try saying too much in your notification email, were dodging meeting invites prematurely, or if you have a pattern. "Nancy/Bill, I'll be out of office today, January xx, due to illness. Please contact me via WhatsApp or call my cell for any urgent issues."

Are you not from the US? Most firms in the US don’t have separate sick days.

like

But in all seriousness, we do have separate sick days and I have been able to use them when absolutely necessary

I wouldn’t usually be this stingy, but I plan to take a longer trip this year and the singular day would make the difference between 4 full weeks versus 3 weeks with a hole.

Flex and work your hours on Monday to Thursday?

It’s probably less defined day by day. There is a minimum 40 per week. But it is moreso driven by need and work product. Instead of defining what it is for the day, our expectations are set for several days, a week or more out. That enables each person to achieve the team goal on their schedule, but unless it’s the week of reporting, expectations aren’t usually defined for a given day. Maybe just ask for a greater share or lift for four days and see if your team will cover you for the last?

Curious what other people's parental leave looks like for companies of a similar size and industry. We are about 150 employees in the CPG (beverage) space. We want to improve/expand our paid leave. How much paid time do you give your employees? Do you give the same amount for the primary and secondary caregiver? Please include your company size and industry.

Question for EY moms - my husband and I are thinking about starting a family soon, so I was looking up the parental leave policy to see what my options are. I know some firms have clawback clauses that require you to come back to work for a specific period of time or else you have to pay back the salary you received while on leave, but I couldn’t find anything similar in the EY policy. Does this mean EY doesn’t have a clawback clause for parental leave, or is it just hidden away somewhere? TIA!
