Wow...I just got really scared. We got people out here saying the economic impact could be worse than 2008. Too many unknowns. I hope not but damn it gave me a chill.

Were you a part of the 2008 crisis? If not, let me put you at ease. I was a part of the dot-com crash, the 9/11 slump and the financial meltdown of 2008. Through those periods, I lost my job twice. But I made it through all those periods. So did millions of others. We will see through this moment too. It’s a part of life.

Likewise. 3 layoffs here and a long period of unemployment in 2001 Everyone will all of a sudden realize that getting the perfect project is way less important than being chargeable long term

It’s different since one was due taking too many loans out and this one is due to a virus we know little about. We are in a much better place this time around to deal with it then 2008. It should tho all make us thankful for the jobs that we do have and that we get paid well, even it is slightly less than others.

Coronavirus is exposing worldwide structural issues. Ever since 2008, we’ve had artificial manipulation of markets with quantitative easing and low interest rates for such a long time. Meanwhile, the best companies will survive. This is a value investors dream. Finding value and holding for the long term.

For those of you who do follow the bond and mortgage markets closely (I invest heavily in real estate) there is a major crisis happening there too. Rates have skyrocketed this week mostly due to a fundamental failure in market (no buyers for loans). While not the same root cause, there is likely some housing and financial sector impact coming. Interesting the news hasn’t spent much time on this yet.

Will the homes become more affordable in the US?

I've been dating this girl for 9mo and dtr'ed 5mo ago. She hides me from her family. For ex, we had plans for me to go to her place but something popped up and her brother was there to help. She indirectly told me to not go over until her brother leaves. I brought this up and she said why would I want my brother to know a random person's sleeping over? Same thing for when her parents decide to stop by and I'm at her place, I have to leave immediately. Is it a red flag or is it still too early?

what difference does 109% vs. 100% utilization make at Year End? Latter basically means you took your PTO, former means you worked every minute of the year (Consulting, S&O)

I keep taking calls with companies because I get some actually good offers on LinkedIn (I work in a growing area of health tech) but I have no intention of switching companies at the moment. I like to test the market. What is the proper time to stop interviewing? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time but I’m also obviously passively willing to chat and look around at opportunities
