Be careful of confirmation bias. It’s possible to misunderstand someone when the media is working so hard to frame them.

Let me clarify, I don't listen to what any mainstream media says. Instead, I do just as I stated. I listen to the speaker because msm has twisted words from both sides of the aisle.
What data can you point to that can show DEI czars have improved academic achievement? There are lots of “studies” saying it ‘can lead to .. ‘ or ‘ student indicate they felt (fill in the blank) but there isn’t quantitative data that shows it’s implementation has moved the catastrophic educational figures. It’s promises are sweeping and unfalsifiable because if it doesn’t work it’s due to implicit bias in its implementation or the stakeholder buy in was rushed. It’s an unfillable hole sucking resources and adding administrators at the expense of teachers. He should take out the Ed Schools while he’s at it where these boondoggle ideas come from.
Michigan - “don’t be absurd” is your answer to how equity and equality of outcome is not the same thing. There is a reason they (DEI squad ) dont use equality- because equality of opportunity isn’t the goal - it’s equality of outcome .. that is absurd yes, but it is Marxist .
You read the opening paragraph of a DEI PD meeting but you can’t tell me one specific point that it wishes to implement. “Meeting the student where they are “ means what ? Our state is spending 120 million on vague overtures and you’re ok with that because it sounds good ?

DeSantis is not cancelling black history. The African American studies AP course is taken from the critical/ liberatory studies frameworks taught at colleges. This would be like saying women’s history taught at the high school is the same as feminist social justice studies at college. It’s conflating sociology with history - these are separate classes and the states have not approved a ______ studies course at the high school which is seeped in CRT. The AA studies AP framework centers Black Americans who espouse an activist lens which promotes upending capitalism, defunding police, and views post colonial Marxist movements as a way to disrupt structures of power. This is a course that inserts a warped narrative and attempts a moral claim to the correct lens of black studies.
