Any recommendations for a postpartum get-back-in-shape program I can do from home (app, website, etc)? I (luckily!) don’t have any crazy pelvic floor issues, but have had some real back pain so looking for a program with good core strengthening, as well as a balanced focus that can generally help me shed the post baby weight.
Best way to network at a big firm is to make relevant TV show references by generation - Partner: Cheers - Senior Manager: Seinfeld - Manager: Friends - Senior/Staff: How I Met Your Mother
I’m pregnant!? And I’m getting a job offer tomorrow. I need to know a million things like their insurance packages (I really want to keep my Kaiser insurance) and whether they offer paid leave before the one year FMLA mark. What else do I need to know? How do I ask all this stuff? How concerned should I be about disclosing my pregnancy considering I just tested positive, and I barely know these people?
I’m switching to Deloitte but pregnant. Due in September... what maternity benefits will I get if any?
Did any recently pregnant or currently pregnant mamas eat sushi while pregnant? It feels overly cautious to avoid entirely
Stimulus package question: Very vague news on these checks right now, but if I had a baby in 2020, do I qualify for the $500?
Advice needed-I’m 30 weeks pregnant and constantly getting dumped on at work (in industry now). I’m high risk (gestational diabetes & hypertension) and have been clear with my all male management team that I’m high risk. Still, they are steady trying to pull me into new projects while I’m actively leading one of the most high profile projects in the org. From a career standpoint, I appreciate it, but I cannot physically keep up the way I used to and feel like I’m risking my and my baby’s health.
Hi moms. I’m looking for tips for transitioning my baby from slow flow nipple to medium flow nipple. She is 12 weeks old, a few days short of 3 month. We thought she was ready for medium flow nipples a week ago and started using them. But there were a good amount of spill (any amount of breast milk wasted makes me 😞; there were more milk in her mouth than she can swallow, and milk end up overflowing out of her mouth). And she threw up most of the milk after one night feeding.
So EY gives up to 16 weeks parental leave now... If you have a kid at the beginning of busy season do you still get promoted?
Might be a paranoid mom question - my 16 month old is starting daycare next week. So far, I’ve had virtual interviews/meet and greet sessions with the daycare staff. Today we went in for our in-person orientation and I noticed that my child is the only non-white kid in his class of 8. Not entirely shocking, but in my head (and having seen pictures in their catalog) I was hoping there would be a little more diversity. Should I be worried about my kid feeling left out because he looks different?
As someone else pointed out, this seems like an everything bowl. So... what SUV should I buy? Planning to lease, don’t want to pay luxury brand price, don’t need a massive MDX but also don’t think a little CRV is going to cut it. Have a baby so safety is important.
Just need to gripe. My partner of 10 years and I don’t plan on having kids. Why shouldn’t I get a paid sabbatical in lieu of parental leave? (Could apply to straight peeps too)
Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!

Anyone have good ways of celebrating a team member who is going on parental leave? A team event, a small gift, etc?
5 months pregnant and let go for "performance issues." Anyone have luck doing contract/seasonal work and getting the company to agree to an earlier end date? Due 2 weeks before tax day 🙃
1yr associate- My supervising partner in commercial is known to be a nut cracker, but he’s also very highly regarded for his work. He’s been coming down on me for careless mistakes in my papers (docket no., venue, verbiage). I know he’s right. I had two clerkships and hate clerical errors, but they have always haunted me. He’s telling me they have to stop.. or else. Help? I have a one year old baby, five year old son and just lost my stepmother to Covid. Can’t handle a job change right now.
PwC moms, looking up the paid parental leave policy. It seems like even though I will be eligible for 26 weeks of leave, only 8 of these will be paid. Is that right, looking for guidance here.
Hope everyone is staying warm! I would recommend using the “hotel tonight” app if your looking for a room with electricity, heat, and wifi. MBB recruiter said I'd hear about my application (whether or not I'd get an interview) by today. haven't heard a word - what should I do? I'm thinking of sending a gentle reminder tomorrow morning, but definitely don't want to look pushy
I have an interview with Deloitte’s AIM group coming up. Anyone from this team have any tips for what to expect/anticipate? Thanks.
Canadians who worked in Canada but now live and work in USA — when you retire, will you receive social security/retirement benefits from Canada as well?
How old was your baby when you went back to full time travel? With my first it was 9mos and my boobs dried up quickly. Now that I’ve had my 2nd, I want to wait longer so I don’t risk ending bf’ing...
I am M1, 30 yrs with a decently rewarding career so far. I dont hv an M7 degree under belt and dnt think a MBA degree would be too rewarding at this stage. Any thoughts on Stanford MSx program ?
Have an opportunity to be a loaned staff for a company I find really interesting for 2 years. Should I be cautious of this? Seems like a good opportunity but I’d likely miss out on the typical career progression of a big 4 firm
What separates MBB from the rest? Work output, pace, branding? How often do people from non mbb firms successfully move to them? What skills make candidates stand out?
Due to COVID impact on my family, I had to take a long break (10 months) from work, went back to the home country and be with them. Since things are settled now I would like to get back to work. I have over 9 years of experience and on H1-B visa. How should I justify the gap to the recruiters? What kind of questions can I expect?
What are good questions to ask in an informational interview? I’ve been with my current company since day 1 and am applying to new production gigs for the first time.
WFH with a kid is making me less productive, so I end up working 30% longer hours to make up for it. But the longer I work, I get diminishing returns in productivity, so I have to work longer still. At this point, my mental stamina is just worn out. How do I fix this?
Just made the switch to client side...
After 3 rounds of interviews (total 4 inc recruiter screen) over the past 5 odd weeks, just got told by a T2 consulting firm that they doesn’t sponsor H1B visas which is frustrating because they were aware of my visa situation right at the start. Sigh 😢. Understand it happens but frustrating nonetheless given the time and effort invested.
Interested in moving to strategy from tech in entry level role. Should I wait until Fall to hit 1 YOE before looking? Mindful of missing out on current hiring frenzy. I’m currently a high performer at my firm, on track for promotion ~1 year from now, and only working ~40 hours/week, but I don’t find the work interesting at all (PMO for ERP implementation).
4 months, 7 interviews, all done and dusted, numerous congratulations mails and messages and now they say they can’t offer the job. Weird flex, but not okay 🤬 IBM, you shithole.
82k salary 2 years out of undergrad in Chicago. Is that on par with what others have been making around this time in their lives?
A goal of mine is to leave my PA firm (one of the big 4) this year. Currently in my fourth busy season. Do you think I should wait until getting promoted to senior and leave right after, or leave after this spring busy season? I am not super eager to get a senior position because with Covid and the inevitable learning curve, I don’t feel equipped to accept one. So I was thinking of applying for entry positions. Any advice?
Currently a PhD at a M7. Veteran, and obviously used to be at EY. Currently in qualifying phase and starting to looking to post-PhD life. How do the firms differ in how they treat advanced degrees (ie stick to PhD area or are you a generalist)? How do federal vs commercial practices differ when recruiting advanced degrees? I recognize that there might be a pay differential (pay isn’t important, I don’t want to go back to B4 due to tax/consulting dichotomy), just would be great to be federal.
Shout out to DCA for not making uber drivers do stupid crap like go to inconvenient spots to pick us up.
