Quite often these overlap, but there are a lot of people out there like JD Vance who come from poor white roots, but because of their skin color they’re assumed to have some magical privilege bestowed upon them by society. So I typically don’t answer the EEO questions at the end of applications that ask for race and gender. Lately I’ve noticed companies following up via email for this information after I submit the application. Am I the only one who does this? Does it even matter? Any thoughts on the follow up emails asking for the information after the application has already been submitted?
By now, nearly every CEO of a major company has made some public statement or proclamation of their commitment to racial equality, diversity, and such matters. What percent of those do you believe truly comes from the heart and a bias for both personal and corporate action, versus a necessary public relations response with little personal ownership? My view: about 30%. That is still a great number, because it’s far higher than zero.
After reading many annual reports, I am really getting tired of the fact that female management board members are always HR. Often that’s the only female member. Gender equality has long way to go

Is having an all-female event in a company setting inherently sexist? Isn’t defining who is allowed to attend an event based on gender the definition of sexism and should not be allowed?

Evaluating an exit into Amazon as L6 product manager (TC: $225K) after 1 year at BCG. I want to work in tech/fintech long term. Questions: 1) Is the work life balance better at Amazon, than BCG? Currently I'm averaging 70 hours a week. More than that, the pace is quite insane. Deliverables every couple of hours. 2) Is the level of mentorship/coaching better at Amazon? 3) Is the offer reasonable? Their upper max is 250k and I'm currently at 240, should I try to atleast get my current TC?

Our group had 3 seniors leave during busy season and I know of 2 more that plan on leaving this summer. I also started interviewing but can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of guilt for leaving our staff/new seniors knowing next busy season will be absolutely brutal for them all. Help me feel better about leaving!
