Not surprised. I think it will be another five years before there's significant movement on c suites. They have spent forty years weeding minorities out by not paying them well, and not promoting them. I will give small (very small kudos) to groupm who hired Kirk McDonald (Black man), Alex Newman (Black Man), promoted a woman to lead mindshare as CEO and have an Asian woman as CEO of Wavemaker

I'm sure these people are all great and deserving and will do splendidly at their jobs. My issue is with these constant promises from the hold co's of doing better, recognition that they aren't doing better, talk about how they're hiring entry level staffers of color like gangbusters, talk about how disproportionatly white their leadership teams are and then here we go again with another round of promos. Publicis didn't even TRY. BIPOC leadership doesn't exist because we aren't trying to make them into leaders but they won't ever be leaders because they don't exist.... and on and on. Until when??? The end of time? Cool sounds good...

They are 100% deserving of those roles…the bench strength at Publicis is great. So what since they are “white” that should disqualify them for a role they have earned?

So I typically don’t answer the EEO questions at the end of applications that ask for race and gender. Lately I’ve noticed companies following up via email for this information after I submit the application. Am I the only one who does this? Does it even matter? Any thoughts on the follow up emails asking for the information after the application has already been submitted?

By now, nearly every CEO of a major company has made some public statement or proclamation of their commitment to racial equality, diversity, and such matters. What percent of those do you believe truly comes from the heart and a bias for both personal and corporate action, versus a necessary public relations response with little personal ownership? My view: about 30%. That is still a great number, because it’s far higher than zero.

Evaluating an exit into Amazon as L6 product manager (TC: $225K) after 1 year at BCG. I want to work in tech/fintech long term. Questions: 1) Is the work life balance better at Amazon, than BCG? Currently I'm averaging 70 hours a week. More than that, the pace is quite insane. Deliverables every couple of hours. 2) Is the level of mentorship/coaching better at Amazon? 3) Is the offer reasonable? Their upper max is 250k and I'm currently at 240, should I try to atleast get my current TC?

Our group had 3 seniors leave during busy season and I know of 2 more that plan on leaving this summer.
