Wow. The Liberty Insurance singing mnemonic is quite possibly the worst I’ve ever heard. I think they were trying to emulate the Farmers mnemonic but failed miserably.

I had my 9 week scan today and everything went well - we saw the baby and heard the heartbeat. Is it a stretch to buy a $900k house with about $180k income? The conventional metrics would say yes, but our budget works. We figured about $4000/m for PITI, $3000 for non-housing expenses, and $2000 for savings/investing. No debt and $50k in savings. We have about $200k for the down payment. Am I missing anything here or is this actually doable?

Which would be the best insurance for parents visiting the US?

Recently made the jump from mostly insurance defense work where my average billable rate was around $225/hr. Now the average billable rate is probably about $450/hr. Would I be able to get away with my insurance defense billing practices. I was averaging about 2800/yr before. Would that be cool in big law?

What would you do if you were me? Late 30s. Burned out. 1.4M invested in index funds (75% in in post tax accounts). 4k/month fixed housing expense. Untilites/insurance/subscriptions at 1k/month. We are currently building the plan for the hybrid model we will follow mid October. (No specific date yet.) We have committed to an A/B model with groups attending MT and Th/F in person, working remotely the other three days. If you have an AB model do you deliver the same content to your students each day, regardless of them being remote or in person? Or is the lesson cycle one that begins on the first day you teach in person for each group? This second model seems complicated.

Should I have a second child? I met my husband later in life at 37 yo. We had our first when I was 39. I thought I was good with just one as I was never someone who really wanted kids but I know my husband would love to have another and now that I have one I think about her having a sibling. I’ll be 41 in March so we need to start now. I love the ease and flexibility of one child and she’s been such good baby. I’m worried that if we have another I’ll regret it. I’m also about to start a new job.
