Wrapping up an MBA this semester. I expect to finish with a 4.0 if that matters. Been self employed running a small business for the past 2.5 years, but the industry is going to be struggling for a while. I can starve it out, but I’m also revisiting an interest in consulting that I didn’t pursue many years ago. I feel a bit off the typical path. Wondering if anyone has any guidance as I explore this further.
Have you connected with alumni in your program to do informational interviews? It helped me a ton when I was getting ready to graduate
+1. This really helped me as well. Highly suggest job fairs at your school if they have them as well.
Don't worry much about which "path" you're on. Sometimes you never really know what's best for you until you see things for yourself. Are you torn between your MBA career vs pursuing your old flame in consulting?
I haven’t done any informational interviews with alumni. That sounds like a good idea though.
I’m actually torn between my MBA career and my current business. In some ways, my current industry bores me. Being paid to solve problems for other businesses sounds interesting and is a good use of my degree. If I pursue this path, I’ll hire someone and keep my business running on the side.
