I’d go home and put my feet up and enjoy my weekend. You were prepared. Your job is done.

Oh my gosh I'm so sorry that is so awful!!! I can't imagine how devastating that must be! Go home, have a glass of wine (or cup of tea) and RELAX! You went above and beyond today! The fact that the email came at 4 UGH makes me so mad for you!!!!! I HATE when plans changed suddenly. I'm so sorry! Take a lot of time for yourself this weekend, you DESERVE it!

You need to take time for yourself this weekend. Taking an L like that, you deserve a win. No school work for you until Sunday.
My favorite comment but I’m doing it backwards. Sunday I will do nothing but relax and laundry, today I’ll get ready

10 hours? Dang. I’ve spent like an hour and called it 😂
Fair enough, I got excited lol

I have one question (trying to place a positive spin). Were you excited when setting your classroom up for in person instruction? We f so, just take that joy with you. I understand the aggravation and loss of time. But did you have a moment of joy?
It was FUN! I LOVE all the artsy crafty things and decorating and setting up all my stations and happy things. But...I wish I had done all the other stuff so I could have a weekend
Sorry.

There is nothing you can do; I have learned to begin getting a room ready the day of. I have my students help me set up. Paperwork first, moving things around the room, 2nd thing. There are always so many changes. I don't even let it bother me anymore. I just accept it and move on. Life is too short to worry about something like that. Im sure you did an awesome job and seems like you are an awesome teacher. Just move on and learn from it.:)
I could never, these kids haven’t been in a classroom in almost a year, how sad it would be to walk into a blank room that looks more like a jailhouse classroom than a happy bright learning space. I went a little extra on decorating but I thought it would also help me to feel better with new in person kids.
If saying or doing something could rectify this situation, I would say or do something. But, if it won’t make a difference, take a loss. Be thankful that you’re alive and well.
I get it, I can’t rewind time. I posted this to vent and to make myself feel better and it worked so I’m okay.
Wow. Such a stressful situation! Not sure this will help, but think about it this way: you will have less to set up when you actually do get back.
IF they come back, but it’s true it made me happy today to see my room and I put some plants in and it’s al good. I was sad and vented but it’s okay, everything really is bananas over here right now so it’s understandable and there’s no blame, just a little frustration followed by relentless positivity because it’s way too hard to be cynical and negative, even if it feels warranted at the time
Just be thankful for your job. District's are very disorganized during this time, no one knows what to do.
Meh.
Imagine having a schedule created and students aren't aware of it. They allowed some students to return from virtual to face to face. Can you imagine trying to help both at the same time?? It was a disaster. I'm happy that I didn't have a melt down. I practically helped students navigate Google Classroom and find the necessary things for class.
Teachers and students weren’t aware of it. This is the exact same situation. We’re still working out the kinks, the past two days I had one virtual class with only one kid. Today they added 5 more...2 of which already took the class. It’s madness but it’s our reality so I’m making the best of it
