Fam! Deciding to get arranged marriage. If the potential SO is in India, what are your lessons learnt, do and don’ts, and things to keep in mind while talking to them. How did you do it?
I am new to RR this year. I am excited about this new journey and created this group to hear advice and tips for classroom setup, organization, and time management. Thanks to all who comment!
I'd love to connect with other elementary librarians to discuss lesson ideas, class management styles, etc.!
What’s the best thing you’ve done for your classroom management? I teach 10th grade English. I’m young and look younger than I am. Next year will be my 3rd year teaching. My classroom management was better this year but still want to improve. Learning how to be firm and consistent without being mean.
Has anyone had success with using a wireless doorbell in their classroom? Thinking about trying it with 5th grade. Thoughts?
What are your to-go stores/web sites to find classroom items? (Storage, furniture, wall decor, etc) Really want to make my first year room adorable, but also struggling to find the best deals. HELP!
We're returning to the classroom! I haven't taught live, in a classroom, since Friday, March 13, 2020. Ack! This is also my first full year as a teacher. I have four of my students and 3 students from the younger class coming to my hybrid class for three hours M, T, Th, F, starting this Thursday. Any ideas? Tips? Rules? I have lots of ideas, but figured I should pick the experts' brains, rather than freaking out and spinning my wheels. I'm feeling very high anxiety today. Thanks!
What is the legal ratio of adults:students in an ECSE inclusion setting? In a reverse mainstream setting? Are Title I PreK classrooms required to have a para and teacher? What is the ratio for that? What is the legal ratio of adults:students in a mixed 4 y/o PreK setting? (#___ SPED+ #___regular=1 teacher and ____paras) Specifically in Louisiana, but curious about other states, as well!
I know it's early to even mention this, but has anyone starting preparing lessons for the fall? I want to create a remote learning webquest (how to use remote learning tools) so that students are prepared for anything.
A lesson on bureaucracy: Red tape works both ways - watch as I divest the Tax and Audit practices with no way to stop me. 😇
Thinking of taking up golf as I’m getting more and more requests to play with colleagues and clients. I was planning to get a few lessons and go to hit a bucket once a week or so here in the

What is the biggest drawback of leaving the classroom to become an administator? I'm thinking of finally using my admin license.
Happy New Year! Although just a change of a digit on the calendar, the fact that we’ve rotated around the sun gives people inspiration for change. What new or altered mindset or actions will you be bringing into your classroom in 2021? 🤩
I have a straight-A student who is 2 points away from an A in my class (after grading her midterm exam). Should I give her the A or would giving her exactly what she has earned teach her valuable lesson?
Ladies I had a difficult breakup today (actually this breakup dragged on for two months). Hard lesson but love is not enough without commitment. Commitment is an active choice

What’s the best way to learn golf? Take lessons?
What is the salary for KPMG Deal Advisory for an experienced associate and a new senior associate? Specifically in Chicago
A good indicator of a bad day is drinking Sutter Home from the Hilton Garden Inn pantry.
Interviewing for jobs honestly sometimes feel like the hunger games where only one person survives the fight
How do I know when I'm ready for SQL interviews? I feel pretty comfortable with different joins, window functions, and subqueries, and I feel like that's been enough to do everything on Leetcode and StrataScratch. Anything other topics people would recommend reviewing?
Now that the CDC says no masks needed indoors if vaccinated, is anybody concerned what that means for kids under 12? I’m assuming that the honor system isn’t entirely going to work (I.e., some unvaccinated people will go maskless). I don’t want my 5 and 7 year olds around unvaccinated unmasked strangers, but it’s also a bummer to stop taking them places. Not that I was taking them that many places, but the occasional grocery store, shoe store, etc. seems riskier now.
Working with an (external) headhunter for a role, and just found out they want me to proceed to the second round of interviews. I had told the headhunter after the first round that I was interested in moving forward (although I did express some concerns I had) but after thinking about it, I’ve decided I’m not interested in the role. Does it look bad to go back on my word and drop out of the process now?
Why do people client side think it’s ok to treat consultants so badly. They would never treat colleagues the way they treat us, it would be a HR violation. I mean, I know consultants are annoying, but we still deserve to be afforded some human decency. Instead, it’s usually aggression and rudeness.
Does the firm have the ability to actively monitor skype chats? Does the people consultant have the power to oversee or someone else? Just curious
How would you rate IESE MBA (Top3 Euro school in Barcelona) vs US Schools? Asking as a European (German).
Got promoted to senior but did not get a raise to go with it. Firm keeping salaries flat this year due to COVID-19, but I was shocked when I found out promoted staff wouldn’t be getting a raise either. To me, this whole thing rings hollow because the firm has told us multiple times that they were projecting flat growth for the year when compared to last year (which was one of the best in firm history). So it pisses me off that they shot their mouth off about how great year last year was...cont
For those who lateraled from a midsize firm to biglaw, did your class year change? E.g., fourth year to third year
If I apply to a position on StaffIt, does the person who posted it get an automated notification? Or does it have to flow through my Resource Manager?
Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team. New leadership than when I was hired
Anyone recently jump between SAP practices at different firms? Curious on module, YoE, Comp
Finally put in my notice bc I reached my limit with the currents stress of our industry (long hours, no boundaries, no breaks during the day, lack of eating due to stress and schedule, toxic leads, toxic clients, etc). Every Sunday I’d be up til 4am bc I could sleep and felt sick to my stomach. For some reason I’m still feeling that even tho I know I’m leaving. Tips on how to relax and get through work til my last day?
