How can I as a new associate counsel develop relationships with various departments in the company, including executives?

I am looking to go in-house and I thought all of the interviews went well at one company. A week after my last interview, the internal recruiter contacted me just to touch base. 3 days later, I received an offer from another company and I contacted the recruiter from the job I want to tell her and she said she would check with the hiring manager and that we should she responded, “stay in close touch.” I emailed today casually to see if there was any update. No answer, any insight into why?

Any tips for how to make apartment living more tolerable? I’m a big car guy so I like having a garage. Also into woodworking and grilling, both of which are also difficult.

How do I get better at editing? I feel like I’m always missing really small stuff. Spell check is not the problem. It’s more repeated words or missing words. Sometimes a comma. The partner tells me to line edit, but it gets a little difficult when you edit your own work several times. I also have tried to print out my work. Sometimes it helps, but I do not always have access to a printer. Any tips?

I’m considering making a huge career change from litigation paralegal to legal operations. I have no experience in legal operations per se however, I have 12 years as a customer service manager, and trainer, as well as 17 years as a Litigation Paralegal. I love being a litigation paralegal, but I’ve always enjoyed being on the operations side in customer service specifically working for corporations, like Sprint, PCS, and managing up to 43 customer service representatives. Thoughts please?!

I think more House Rs than actually stated want Trump to be impeached - not because they think he’s done anything wrong, but because he’s toxic to the electability of the GOP. But because the Dems have a majority they don’t need to stick their neck on the line and risk Trumpist ire. So they’ll let Dems do it.

My sibling is currently going through opioid withdrawal and my family and I would like her to go to detox. She’s insisting that detox isn’t helpful, and just makes her want to use (She has run from detox 5x over the past 4 years). She would like to detox at home instead, but if she is going to go to rehab, I she needs to spend at least some time in detox.

Should we let her detox at home or is this just asking for trouble? Can provide more details in the comments, but there is a character limit

Hi all - I see myself starting to go down a path that I want to avoid. My issue is less frequency of drinking, more that if I’m out 3 drinks turns to 20. I’m not religious and would prefer a moderation program so I don’t lose the occasional glass of wine at dinner. Any recommendations?

I’m studying addiction psychology and I’m curious what treatments you all have personally found to be most effective (eg types of therapies, 12 step programs, rehabs, detoxes, spiritual practices etc)

I've struggled with excess for as long as alcohol has been a part of my life. I'm at a low point after having too much on Sunday, being unproductive on Monday, and barely sleeping. It's this moment that makes me want to finally change. But I know when I'm feeling better, I'll think I can do this all again and next time it'll be fine. I've read tips here for being better and will try my hardest. Tia for listening.

Assuming one is an alcoholic...is there any middle ground for occasional drinks or is it all or nothing for recovery?

Has anyone had success reducing or getting off stimulants? I been on vyvanse for 10 years and now at a pretty high dose (60mg). I feel fine when I take 60mg but my concern is if I don’t take that much I feel barely functional and I don’t want to go any higher in future years. Not taking on weekends basically requires me to just lay in bed all weekend.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to seek help but I need it desperately. I'm a sex addict and I can't stop. I have been with my wife for almost a decade and I have lost count of the number of women I have cheated on her with. I have been "lucky" that she has never found out but I literally can't stop. I feel ill lose everything if she discovers this and I truly and deeply do love her. I just don't know how to fix myself. Please help!

I want to go to something like AA but I am an atheist who calls myself agnostic because atheism is illogical. I hear AA and AA-like support groups are religionish-oriented. Is there anything else?

If I want to go to an AA meeting do I just show up? What happens my first time? Do I have to quit drinking before I go to one/ be committed to quitting before going? How many people are at these? Is there a time/day of week that is best to go? How often do people in AA have to go to meetings? Does it cost anything once you join? I just can’t shake the feeling that my luck is going to run out. Not a daily drinker, but blackout when I do. Thx.

Walked back from the liquor store between calls in tears because I can’t control myself anymore. Am doing an intake meeting with a Intensive Out Patient care provider next week. Will be doing therapy from 5:30p-8:30p like three times a week for two weeks. How do I tell my team that I’ll have hard stops for these sessions? I don’t feel comfortable sharing my alcoholism with them

Constantly sneezing and have runny nose in the office because of opiate withdrawal. Any advice? I stay clean M-F and then kind of binge on weekends 😞
