YAY!!!! 🎉 New Pfizer oral drug to test Covid approved!!! YAY 🎉

I guess it’s a 5 day regime, 3 pills BID (2x daily).
The question is…. will antivaxxers take this if Rx (prescribed) by a doctor?

We need to ramp up production!

not test/ugh!!! TREAT

I love the initial roll out (?)- *rationing treatment of Pfizer oral Covid pill-
if a person tests positive (at a testing site) and they have symptoms of Covid the testing site will hook the person up with a clinic (dr appt), unless of course you are already connected to the health care system due to ongoing care.

I’m amazed at how many adults I either worked with (family/single mom/dad), colleagues…who do not have a Dr. that they go to on a regular basis.

Oh, have to have a script, hence the need for a MD/DO

Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped. It’s been 3 months without my period and not sure what could be causing it (I’m not pregnant). My diet hasn’t changed and neither has my activity. I run marathons but I’ve been doing that for years now and it’s never impacted my period prior. I have an appointment to see my OB in a week but wondering if any of you experienced this.

Offtopic: Which is the best health insurance (company) to buy for parents? Please suggest as per prior firsthand experience in claims, settlement, premium etc.

My parent has a star health policy for which the renewal premium is drastically increasing (almost by 50%) every year at age 51.
With such increase I do not think it will be viable for long term. So planning to switch/port.

One of the best things about COVID lockdown: The pause on “how many points?” posts in this bowl.

Ugh, don't you just love it when patients say things like, I only want a doctor to insert my IV or give me the shot? I always want to say, look, the doctor probably hasn't placed an IV since their Internship and I've been doing this every day for the past 15 years...

You have to love people

NYC Freelancers! My Medicaid is ending soon and I need to start making health insurance decisions (lame). My current agency is offering me FT and I’m pretty terrified as I feel like I’m going to sell away my freedom. Their health insurance is pretty good and allows me to put my partner on it. I’m trying to also rationalize paying for my own in NYC but it’s so expensive ($500+/mo). I go to the doctor fairly often. Single NYC freelancers (no kids), what do you pay monthly or yearly? Worth it?

Suggestions?

Asked for a LOA because I just got bad medical news and want time to process & find surgeons (I have to decide between staying in constant pain or being able to have kids one day). HR said it’s not a valid reason & I’ll lose my insurance at the end of the month if I take leave. They want me to use my 5 days of sick time & return to work after. I have an underlying autoimmune issue & need to save my sick days in case of a flare up. Ranting, but a reminder that companies don’t care about anyone

I left gecio and went to liberty mutual, but I’m not liking their way of evaluating claims. They rely heavily on Mitchell which is a pricing tool and their reductions are excessive. I’m thinking of switching back to Geico and was wondering if anyone has gone back to their previous carrier. I used to be a lit adjuster at gecio and now only handling soft tissue claims, which is extremely boring. I’m gonna be going through liberty’s litigation training at the end of June.
