I'm fully vaccinated, but I will still wear one indoors or wherever social distancing is difficult. I have an immunocompromised spouse and I'm not trying to bring COVID home to her. Breast cancer is no joke.

Thanks. Last chemo is 1 June. 6 weeks of recovery, then surgery. Dunno how long after surgery we wait until she goes through radiation.

No reason to wear a mask once vaccinated. Period. Masks only provide minor protection at best if you are infectious. Let’s stop the insanity and get back to normal.

likesmartfunny

How do I know if you’ve been vaccinated or not? How do you know if I have? Masks were never just about protecting ourselves; they were mostly (and still are) about protecting others as well. If you’re an eligible person who chooses not to get vaccinated, I’ll admit that I care somewhat less about keeping you safe because you can’t be bothered to keep yourself safe, but I’m still going to mask up where I’m asked to do so because some people CAN’T get vaccinated even if they want to, and I DO care about them.

I'm still gunna mask up until I know people follow basic hygiene

Lmao at the carbon dioxide comment

Yeah I have trust issues with ppl. Who will lie to not wear one. I don’t mind wearing it still tho I’m vaxxed.

likefunny

Exactly. The people choosing not to get vaccinated are the same people who’ve been complaining about masks for the last year. They don’t seem to realize that the unvaccinated are now at higher risk of getting and spreading it when they come into contact with other unvaccinated people, simply because the universe of available hosts has shrunk.

No more masks for anyone*

You do realize not everyone feels this way, right? I’m the mother of a newborn and a toddler and this terrifies me

like

I’m with ya PM1. I’m both happy and terrified. Although kids are low risk for bad symptoms there are less places I’m willing to take them now that most people are rocking no mask. Not an easy thing knowingly walking into a store with a newborn and toddler when everyone’s face is exposed and they’re making mouth noises 😆 we are staying home in most cases for longer..

like

Where? A lot of the stores here in NYC still require them

like

BAH, do you have a link to a study saying unvaccinated people are spiking? Because that’s quite a claim

Many stores never enforced masks here ever to begin with, nothing’s changed I’m still the only person to wear a mask in a store im just more protected at this point.

Masks and panic forever! Lock it down!

Just fine, thanks for asking EY1. Just not in the mood to engage with the “woke” this AM.

I’m in the mall of America right now and looking at like 50-60% mask compliance. Been fully vaccinated so I just keep a mask in the back pocket. If vaccinated folks want to wear them that’s fine, but not a fan of mask projection.

likeuplifting

Was probably closer to 80% compliance.

I wish I was in a state without a mask mandate. My state changed their mask policy to align with the CDC, but the mask mandate technically still exists for the unvaccinated. Thus, everyone’s stuck wearing masks

I really don't understand the fear/hatred of masks. I follow the research pretty closely and think that the risk is low once vaccinated but mask at almost a zero cost for me unless I am exercising. I have 10¢ masks in the house, car, my jacket, etc and when I go in a store that requires them I slip one on. I don't wear them outside but if they are required, it is just a giant nothing to put one on. I don't believe I am saving the world or 19 people's lives but it seems like it makes some unvaccinated people more comfortable/safer. I guess I don't see it as any different than adhering to the dress code.

I believe the founding fathers specifically said we don’t need masks during a pandemic and should be able to go to McDonald’s without one. I can’t remember exactly where but I am sure it is somewhere in the Bill of Rights.

Two questions: 1) I’m pregnant with my first baby (16 weeks), any advice on when to disclose? 2) Does that timing advice change given our current COVID circumstances? I’ve been WFH since March, and while the Firm hasn’t indicated it’s going to require us back in, a handful of partners I work have started to mention it. I’d like to nip that talk in the bud and feel like a reasonable way to do that is to disclose. Thanks in advance for any thoughts?
