Has anyone told people freely that you’re in early stages of pregnancy to avoid awkwardness and lies? Surprised it’s so hush hush still these days. I am considering telling people caveating it’s early. Is that a bad idea? Has anyone done it?

Recently found out I’m pregnant. Husband and I are so excited, but we weren’t exactly planning this. I’m young (26) & only a 1st year assoc (started sept 2019). We were planning on waiting at least another year or two, b/c I love my job & firm & hoped to be more senior/established before needing to take leave. I’m trying to convince myself that I can “have it all” & am not losing my Big Law career by having this baby. Any tips or advice? (More in comments)

I’ve been with my organization a little over a year and we’ve had major transitions and turnover that took me from starting as a recruiter coordinator to a hr generalist, and now an interim hr manager. I have a masters degree in industrial organizational psychology and while I am new to HR have professional work experience in other fields-military, teacher, training specialist. I love what I do. Should I apply for the hr manager position with only a year of hr work history? Do I have a chance?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Hello everyone. I never thought about making a career out of hr but its definitely something that I want to do now. Eventually, my goal is to become an HRIS analyst. At ADP i worked as a technical support analyst and helped clients with anything from troubleshooting system issues to reporting to processing payroll and much more. I've applied to over 100 positions and havent even advanced to a single interview. It has been rejection after rejection. Any suggestions on which positions to focus on?
