I’m convinced that “implementations” are more challenging than “strategy” consulting. Having done both, the nuances associated with having to figure out every last detail in implementations makes the work significantly more challenging than painting high-level strategy in what is often broad brushstrokes filled with assumptions.

How hard do you push interns? An intern told me that a task took 4 solid hours, which seemed very high for the output provided. I checked the file version history, and there are a few 30-60 min breaks, and 80% of the task was obviously done in the hour before a check-in deadline. How, and how harshly should I push them on this discrepancy? Before you ask, this was a data transformation task that happens 100% in the same file, with no need to Google, use other files, ask for help, etc.

Looks like a massive Exodus happened in Deloitte? Trying to staff a project and there is literally no one to staff with (at least Salesforce practice) and we are having to reach out to contractors. Is this a result of layoffs that happened last year and folks are purely unhappy with pay (not considering project pressure as that can vary/be subjective)? Can someone explain this sense of entitlement by the younger generation? When I hear the younger gen complaining that they aren't getting paid enough when they start at 70k which is more than some experienced hires.....I just don't understand.

I consider myself a gen xer. I feel that in the past, longevity and loyalty to a company was the trend. Now, i see ppl with resumes and they stay for less than a year in a job and change jobs constantly. The younger generation and are so eager to move up the ladder. Advice- I am new to consulting/Accenture from industry, I have been asked to charge 40/45 hrs a week but I get all my work done in less than 20 hrs. As a Christian I charged the exact hours worked which is 18hrs but my SM is not happy with that. What am I supposed to do? Any one ever have this issue of finishing tasks in less time?

Unpopular opinion: Late night projects don't suck, the people you're working with just suck. One of my favourite projects had 12-1am nights for a month straight and was tough but I was genuinely friends with my colleagues and manager that it was just fun being on the project and working with them. Thoughts?
