I am a single woman and have been for most of my life. I would prefer no acknowledgement of Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t bother me if other people get flowers, etc., so non-romantic acknowledgements of it feel like pity. I think surprising your secretary with a “thank you for the hard work” type gift out of the blue on a random day would mean more.
I would defs find it weird to get something from one of my attorneys on v day
There’s our answer 😂
Honestly, I’d say it depends on your vibe with her. I would give a small Valentine’s Day gift like chocolate to a legal assistant I work with if she was single because her and I are good friends. We’re about the same age, got each other small Christmas gifts (ie, coffee gift card, hot chocolate kit). So I would see it as a “Galentines Day” thing. But if it was someone I wasn’t as close with, I would find it a bit weird.
Oo this one is touchy. Probably no gift or something not related to Valentine’s Day.

We used to put a little valentine on everyone’s desk for them to find when they arrived to the office (like from those boxes 2nd graders pass out in the classroom). Made the day feel a little festive and special but wasn’t over the top. Now that we’re all working from home we’re not doing anything. I think things get weird when only women or single people are singled out and given flowers or something.
