Not disagreeing: I am curious how much of the increase is due to an increase in detection/testing capacity, rather than new cases.
That rate is the average over the last 7 days. The variability across those 7 days was 1-2%. I think the increases due to increased testing will hit late this week and into next week.
It will be effective worldwide if people stay the fuck home.
In Italy, as recently as 2 weeks ago people were touring the Fontana di Trevi as if nothing was happening. Close everything. As I drove back home today, every single restaurant and bar I drove past was empty, and the streets were almost empty.
Most of those people would have been infected last week, so I hope we start to see a decrease this weekend into next week due to restrictions starting this past weekend. 🤞🏻
