Question for the bowl. Recruiter arranged an interview with a local legal firm for an Office Manager role next week. On paper everything looks great, but the firm has a reputation as being as "ambulance chasers" and for only hiring "good looking young people." I'm really not sure that I would fit in with that work culture. I will go in with an open mind, but If I start to get the vibe that it isn't the place for me, at what point should you just end the interview early?

I know some firms offer fitness/health stipends to cover expenses of gym memberships, equipment, etc. what do the different firms offer?

Old manager had an open role on his team at new company. I went through the interview process and was told I got the offer. He wants me to decide ASAP but I want to see the actual letter and make sure the jump is worth it. He quoted me numbers and wanted me to decide before recruiter reached out. Hi moms..I am 38 but will be 39 when third kid comes along. The other two are 8 and 17 months. Finally found a job I like and am good at. How do I evaluate this offer from a Series D startup? got an offer that looks like this:
- Base: $150k-160k
- Equity: 20k-15k options

It’s my first startup offer so I find this a bit confusing/unusual. They said the combo depends on the base I choose. The ratio isn’t really one to one, so how do I know which combination in the range to choose?

Also, can I still negotiate when they already set the range? Like more options for $160k base vs what they capped at 15k?

Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project.
