I Recently told company A verbally I will accept their offer if they match a job offer I have from Company B and they did. When I informed Company B that I will not be accepting their offer they gave me a sweet counteroffer that i’m seriously considering, What should I say to Company A?

With 18 months of FDD as a senior 3 I’m starting to look at a jump to IB (yes I know its not a good time with the markets - just starting conversations). I can’t seem to find any true HHs or recruiting firms. For those who made the jump did you use any search firms or just start reaching out to folks at specific banks to start conversations? Any tips on starting this networking process if you don’t have many natural “ins”?

Pros/Cons of working in-house at a startup (non-silicon valley)?

I joined EY gds a month ago and want to leave because the manager is not good and always confused about the work that he wants me to do. He keeps on changing his wants after every call sometimes 2-3 times in a day. This leads me to working late nights almost every day and also weekends. I am looking to exit from ey gds asap. Will it leave a bad mark on my resume? Also what can i tell recruiters about the reason of leaving job, as most recruiters dont want understand valid reasons. Plz guide.

Is it common at McKinsey for partners to be heavily involved in projects? I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. The EM takes point on the deck but less on client relationships. I used to work at Big 4 and honestly our partners were rarely involved.

Quick tax question: AB have an existing partnership and bring on C. C contributes it’s stock and cash for its equity interest in the partnership. Any distributions on Cs stock go directly to AB and not to C. Would this be a disguised sale? I’m afraid of a substance over form argument and that this transaction would cause AB to incur a tax liability.

Those of you who left for industry, what do you work towards in your role? I was reflecting on my time in public and there was always something, whether it was a new section in the file, getting more client contact, getting invited to a big golf outing, running the jobs, managing the jobs, etc. I worry that leaving would leave me bored and not motivated to hit any sort of goal. I’m burnt out and worry that I’m making a rash decision lol. Thoughts?
