thanks amex plat!

Favour to ask: I'm building a virtual learning platform to help lawyers overcome some of the barriers we are experiencing in our legal practices right now.
I would really appreciate your feedback to a short survey (less than three minutes to complete) I've put together. Your insights will inform the development of the platform.
And yes, once you complete the survey, you can get beta access to the platform itself. Survey is here: lawtrp.link
Thanks in advance!

I agree with this advice. But I want to note that lots of firms are in the midst of performance reviews and some associates are going to be let go because they are underperforming and that would happen regardless of the market climate.

Underperforming is generally different than not meeting hours. We have a couple associates in my group who are low on hours but otherwise meeting expectations and they’re fine. But there are a couple others who are just not developing on pace/not responding to constructive feedback. They are underperforming.

Where is the data showing every major firm is doing this ?
Meh, we don’t need data - just look at the stock market and macro
Define “major firm”. I’m at an Am150. Pretty lean generally, and in lean speciality partner heavy group, rather than very large corporate or litigation groups.
Even when my firm already lost a lot of associates?
Just to buck the classic lawyer anxiety trend my firm in corporate is still hiring junior associates - fairly regularly it seems. There is that much dry powder around / funds have raised significant undeployed capital it is only a matter of time before transaction volumes bounce - particularly in distressed M&A. I’m not too worried 🤷🏼♂️
