Mothers have specifically asked for Educational Toys and Clothing (sizes provided).

I know kids tend to grow fast but any must have brands/items?

Do you know if there are still secret Santa letters available? If so, can you please provide the link? I normally sign up for a few through work but that program isn’t going on this year due to covid.

What’s the budget? Lakeshore and Melissa and Doug have the best educational toys IMO. Leapfrog if you want something electronic.

like

$100-150 pp

Lakeshore Learning & KiwiCo are my go-tos for my neices & nephew's

KiwiCo requires a place to ship though right? In this instance not as useful as they don’t have a permanent address. But it’s a good resource!

Leapfrog/leap pad is good option, all three of my boys loved theirs.

Anyone had experience promotion during/after pregnancy? I’m working in a team I love and planning to get pregnant. But last week, my boss quit which throws me to an awkward position. If my boss didn’t quit, I have high chance to get promoted at the end of year. But now, everything is uncertain. If I don’t get promoted this year, I prob won’t next year bc I will take a lot of maternity leave. Need some advice here.

Anyone have three kids and working in big law? I just found out I’m pregnant with no. 3 and it’s been a lot trying to juggle morning sickness, but based on my experience, I know this is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come. My husband and I are elated, but the anxiety of being a mom of 3 kids and working in big law is preventing me from truly enjoying this news. It would be good to know what it’s really like having 3 kids so that I can evaluate how long I really have left in big law.

My partner and I planned a trip with all of his friends and their wives before I knew I was pregnant. We will be going and I’m 8 weeks pregnant. I considered not going because I feel like without them all knowing I’m pregnant they’re going to think I’m super lame. We decided the best thing to do is just tell his friends (although a bit earlier than ideal) and then take the pressure off me to show up in any way that doesn’t feel good for me. I don’t even know what my question is…..

Was previously working as an advisor growing a nice book and left to move 18hrs away to be close to family. I was pregnant and desperate to take what would move us and now I’m a planner working for FAs and I’m making $130k. Was fine at first while I got thru pregnancy but now I’m not happy & regret accepting the job and pay. I’m supporting others who are making 3-4times my salary. I have 10 yrs experience and CFP, often more than FAs I’m helping. Ask for more $$ or start over being an FA?

what do you talk about in your 1:1s?

I got lucky and now have leadership that seems to care about my career growth, but I'm 1. a little overwhelmed taking over a new role from someone who went on parental leave earlier than expected and 2. not used to thinking outside my day to day job, happy to keep my head down and just produce good work.

most of what I bring up in these meetings are logistical or prioritization concerns but I feel like my manager is expecting a lot more from me.

Somewhat Deloitte specific, but the Deloitte bowl is mean so posting here

I’m up for promotion this year, and I’ve been working so hard and my feedback is amazing and I’ve wanted this for awhile. Now, an immediate relative is actively dying and I may go out on a short leave, and I also have some PTO planned so that I can visit family oversees later this fall. With all that’s happening, I’m not going to hit my 90% utilization target, which is a checkbox in my promo. (cont).
