Help please! Just seeking calibration / data points. Total household income = $350k. HCOL / high tax area (nyc, so state and city taxes). We are a couple with no kids, no debt. Rent and utilities is 3.2k monthly (combined). Car payment + insurance is 420/month. What sounds like (or if you’re in a similar situation, what is) reasonable avg total monthly spend (incl all expenses even if one-time like travel etc). Or just what’s your total annual spend if you’re in relatively similar situation. 🙏

Just signed an offer for msft and setting a tentative start date. The manager seems flexible between a 8/1-8/15 start date. I was targeting a 8/15 start date so I could two weeks off and recharge my mental health while keeping my insurance, but the recent slowdowns and news of (very minor) layoffs at msft and other companies like Google have me seconding guessing myself. The insurance company I work for outsourced a huge majority of my work to a third party, ontellus 🤮. I am not longer able to bill for NPNP, SDT and CNOS. I received 5 separate NPNPs from ontellus that either had the incorrect case style, signature block or date.
