Amsterdam 4 day holiday recommendations?
Are there any recruiters from IBM who have information on their apprenticeship program (Soft Eng)? I have applied and my application is under review. How much knowledge/skill set does one actually need to get into the new collar program? From what I have gathered online, it's kind of a mixed bag and can take a long time to onboard someone. I am self taught, know the basics of two languages and have some small projects to show. Just wondering if there is anyone that has been through this process.

Straight to voicemail
Not answer because I'm fast asleep
Send a text at 3.30 am (hey, just saw your missed call. How can I help) and then back to sleep.
This way I’m covered when he/she wakes up at 6am and I win
Just do this man. Your sanity will thank you for it 10 years later

Uh khakis?
Dont answer. Call him next day at 1:15 am. Works like a charm every time lol.
It depends on whether or not you post this question in the singles bowl or the consulting bowl, because the only two responses are "F*** him/her, no I'm not answering," or "I want to F*** him/her, I'm definitely answering."
I’d hope that a call at 1:15am would be a butt dial or a personal emergency. And if it’s a personal emergency, you better be close.
I’d be okay if I’m not close but it’s a personal emergency (the others may not be reachable or of any help)
I’d definitely help them get into an ambulance and even go with them to an ER if they would like a familiar face to be around.
I’d like to think a fellow colleague would do the same for me at client site.
If it’s work and since I already picked up, this would get escalated to project partner, my service line lead, councilor and talent/hr
I would think it’s a proper emergency and I answer it. If it’s not an emergency I would say to don’t ever call me again and I would never answer the phone at night
Ha! Love this. It encapsulates my different experiences across firms so well. Pretty sure Slalom 1 (above) is referencing a personal emergency. That was my initial response as well. I can’t imagine someone lasting very long at Slalom if they didn’t have that sort of perspective. But I suppose it’s all about point of reference eh.
Answer and say ‘I love you too honey’
Uhhh khakis?
Straight to the voicemail. I turn off my phone when I go to bed.
I would answer but would answer with something to indicate I assume this is an emergency. The only times this has happened to me were truly things I did want awakened for, like when someone on my team died. So now I would always answer.
Stress is a real silent killer. Hope everyone remembers that and that it costs $0 to be kind to someone. May she rest in power. 😞
Booty call? If yes, that would drastically change my answer...
My phone is on airplane mode when I sleep precisely so I don't have to worry about this even happening.
Same. I sleep with my phone on silent every night. Even my family knows to not call me until the next full day 😂
Find a new project, or get a new job.
F that sh!!
Assuming this isn’t an issue if habitual boundary crossing, I would assume it was an emergency and pick up— especially if we were onsite together. In my years of consulting, I’ve had a few teammates experience medical emergencies while on the client site and far away from home— You never know when someone is going to have an asthma attack/get appendicitis/whatever. I’m happy to be a familiar face in those situations and hope my teammates would do the same for me.
Click answer while I’m banging my wife and leave it on without saying anything. 👏🏻 🍑
If you answer and it’s not a mistake, then you’re setting the tone for the future. So I do hope that you didn’t pick it up. I barely answer for my mom when I’m asleep. Leave a message or text so I know it’s a real emergency 😂🤣.
the only time this is ok in any profession is if you’re a surgeon on call at a hospital. anything else, it can wait. people need to stop taking this stuff so seriously.
Not even know because my phone is on DND after 10pm....
