Ha, I heard something like that recently: “I don’t think you’re boring enough for this role.”

Haha, wonder if that could be said about me too... 😂

« Girl, you are a little too entrepreneur for the network culture and you have been showing too much leadership. » ... I thought showing some leadership and shining bright was kind of the point.

I have five years big 4. Always did well bonus and promotion wise. In between I left for IT sales to make more money but being in Boston I would of had to move for better opportunities. Now I’m back in consulting and miss the freedom of sales. Anyone in my position? I felt this way before quarantine too. The SM on my project almost got divorced so she worked so much, then she said I realized it just my life. It’s just too unhealthy. Thoughts bowlers?

How do you all handle the schmoozing with the client and also your firm leadership? I find it mentally exhausting at times and just want to go back to my hotel.

I'm considering a jump to a FAANG HR Business Partner position. Hoping to get advice from the fishes. My real passion is corporate strategy, but I've done a ton of work with HR over the years, and a good amount of client coaching and training. Would this hurt my chances of going back to corporate strategy later? Is it worth the risk to get into a FAANG?

Has anyone left Consulting for FAANGU and been happier with the work-life balance? On a shitty project, stuck long hours in a broom closet & I keep romanticizing a standing desk & sleeping in my bed.

Why is it assumed PMs are responsible for scheduling all meetings and taking notes? When did this happen? I was responsible for providing a recap of meetings in the sense of next steps, not in depth notes on the conversation. As for scheduling meetings, I was responsible for scheduling the milestone meetings (kick offs, internal reviews, post mortems, status meetings that I led), I did not schedule the team reviews (CD reviews with ADs/CWs), client meetings, etc. Comments?

Need advice, moms. My son is almost 2. I quit D to take a PM job at a client that I’m quite good at but it’s not totally satisfying - reason was really that I just needed time to be at home (contd)

Hey y’all: currently weighing the benefits of obtaining an MBA. Started career with 2.5 years of corporate FP&A, then moved to Senior Consultant at a high growth Mgt Consulting firm (1.5 years in). I’ve seen roles back in industry require (interchangeably) MBA or 2-year management consulting experience. Are MBAs helpful/necessary for consultants...just to have one? Should it be more purpose-driven? Etc.

What are your thoughts on making a company sign an NDA when asking you to do a case study for an interview? Really feel like these interview case studies are unfair towards applicants who spend time cracking their heads on original ideas that might be stolen, without a job offer.
