Anyone in the dc area have recommendations for nannies? Had my son oct 13 and will be back at work in jan. We were thinking au pair but I think a nanny will be a better bet. Thank you for any tips on where to find nannies!
This might be philosophical but wanted to understand if we should get satisfied and be happy with what we have or keep striving for more?
Reason I am asking this is - I earn close to 1.5 lakhs every month and if someone had told me this during my college days I would have taken it eyes closed thinking this is more than enough. But today, I am not able to be satisfied and I don't want this to become an affliction so thought to share with others here and get to know the general sentiments.
Recently bought RT through Delta but on the Air France Airlines. Is there a way to use delta miles for upgrades?
I have a lot of music files saved on Google drive. Any recs on a good music player/playlist maker that can work directly with Drive so I don't have to download the music? Most are not avail streaming.
May have an opportunity to transition out of patient care into working remotely from home doing healthcare Recruiting. Would be a pay cut, is it worth it ?
If we have completed masters and bachelors, do we have to get both evaluated ? I’ve heard that you only need to get masters degree evaluated but want to confirm since the education history lists both degrees in the EE profile. Thanks for the inputs
ZS fish, Had an interview for Business Technology Consultant just over a week ago and despite repeated attempts (four times now) recruiter says she still hadn't heard feedback. Is this basically her saying no? it's been over a week now and I have another offer from B4 for Manager that expires soon, ZS knows about the offer but are now taking a lot of time. B4 offer is 190k and ZS in level setting with recruiter said about 165k plus 14k COLA.

I recently changed positions with Bank of America to the Merrill Investing call center side. I take inbound (and some outbound) service calls and make quarterly bonuses based on new money and new accounts that i open on those calls. I am hourly at $26 with the standard quarterly bonus being around $6300 (close to total of about $80k/year). Does that seem like fair compensation for a Series 7 and Series 66 licensed rep or should I be looking for something different?

I am a veteran with relatively little business experience and currently navigating through consulting mainly in generalist roles. Realistically, how long do you think someone can perform work as a generalist and, if forced to transition out, what might be some alternative career options?
Did anyone file an appeal to their VA disability? My VSO is swamped with multiple requests and not enough time (I heard they’re basically furloughed, only working one day a week). I basically want to provide additional evidence from the VA hospital and outside providers.
To my former enlisted vets, is it difficult to start your MBA in your 30s? I finished undergrad (29/M) last year and recently started working at a major consulting firm in DC. Since all of the M7 schools are outside of the metro area, I’m worried about leaving my job down the road for several years and taking on additional debt. I’d like to stay in this area because of family. I don’t know if a part-time MBA at McDonough is worth the squeeze. Does anyone else feel the same?
Perspective. I’m retiring from the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive. I have a graduate degree pursuing a doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP. I’ve been offered two positions that are great and on the human capital team. For someone in this situation where should I be looking as commensurate with my certifications and experience?
That's our boy!
So, the unexpected happened. I gave my two weeks, left my former company and in the in between my offer was rescinded due to a hiring freeze. Is anyone willing to refer me to a consulting firm? I have about 5 years consulting experience; I’m a logistics officer in the reserves and have my masters. Any help or tips would be much appreciated! Thanks everyone!
How long after you ETS’d did you go to work?
Thinking of taking of 6-12 months before going into the work force.
For context: getting out at 12 years, been special operations for 10 of those years, 7 deployments; 3young kids who I’ve missed a lot of their lives already; have more than enough savings to sustain a 12 month break in between ETS & new job; would be finishing a masters in that time off as well.
What does this look like from the employer perspective? Other factors I overlooked?

I’m an ICU RN still on active duty for another year, at the point where I need to accept another assignment or get out and I’m leaning more towards getting out. I saw this and thought how accurate tree it was. I’m ex army and staying in sadr city rest sucked. 😂🤣
For those of you who got out after 10+ years, how did that conversation with your leadership go? and who was more bitter at the end of it?
From what I see, veterans in MBAs, consulting, and corporate America are dominated by former officers and JMOs. Do you come across many former enlisted in consulting, or are you former enlisted?
So students pursuing trade schools that are probably not online approved but could potentially continue online for a period of time are abt to get F’d.
