I’d do it if the type of work / exit ops at CV appeal to you more. Otherwise, definitely factor in the time it will take you to adjust to a new company and create a new network, if you’re switching purely for a minor comp increase and 6 month faster promotion- those are pretty small things by themselves to switch for imo

I’ve seen similar ZS to CV and CV to ZS movement so I see them as roughly equivalent, though project types and culture differ. CV likely better for VC/PE exits too
Doubt it, ZS better brand
Sorry to ask, what does CV stand for?
Mentor
It really depends. ZS is significantly larger than CV and as such you’ll have much more types of work / practice areas ranging across strategy, access, digital, sales / marketing, market research etc.
CV probably does more “pure strategy” work as a % of their total work.
But outside of LS, would say ZS is generally a more recognized brand compared to CV.
How do you define “pure strategy” work?
Yeah doing mostly “pure strat” work at zs now, main pro was chance of faster promo, con is potential decrease in firm recognition / loss of network / smaller brand
If you’re interested in “pure strategy” then definitely move over to CV
In the long run, if you make P at ZS, money will not be an issue. +/- 20% or 1-2 years is a rounding error.
What does a P make at CV?
Put numbers on the comps
“Promo” moved up .5y, putting M prospect at 2y was my PoV
OP. Numbers please. Can help you a bit
How many YOE?
What is CV?

Absolutely not
Why is that? Curious to understand objective pros/cons
Come join us!! We're in need of people who know what they're doing, and it seems you would be a good fit given your interest in strategy work. I know of at least one person from ZS who came over (albeit at the senior manager level, so perhaps different), and he's stuck around. Agree with the person above who calls out culture though - make sure you like the people you talk to.
Only watch out for you would be that any lateral transition is very hard. You have to come in with a bit of humility and open mind because there will be so many things (big and little) that you will need to adapt to in terms of project work to excel. But for those who have done that well, they've been hugely successful in moving up the ranks.
