Currently KPMG Strategy, thinking about moving over to ACN “Strat”. Will be a level up from where I am, KPMG Strategy M to ACN SM, which is a nice bump in pay. Probably would be KPMG D in 2 years, so this accelerates me a bit. Other than the compensation, any reason why NOT to do this? Looking at a 25-30% base pay bump.

Most likely getting an offer from a big 4 this week (M level). A current client wants to bring me in, but I need SM level to meet my TC expectations. They're working on getting the role leveled up, but it hasn't happened yet. Would likely accept the client role over B4 as long as base is within $40k (higher bonus, better retirement plan, limited travel, and equity involved). Ideas on how to handle?

Good news: I got an offer for a dream strategy role at a series C start up reporting directly to the Chief Finance & Strategy Officer (who also went to HBS and has amazing experience that I can learn from) Bad news: the base compensation is $150k ($60k lower than my base as a SM at Deloitte). The offer does include stock options. Do others who have made a jump from consulting to a start up have advice on how to approach deciding it’s worth the risk of the huge base salary cut?

Manager here in Big4 consulting. I enjoy the people I work for, and have an amazing MD and the best flexibility. I should be promoted to SM shortly. I don’t really care for my job but I don’t want to switch jobs b/c my situation is the best it will get (increasing salary and amazing work life balance). My plan is to stay at my company for the next 5 years, save money, get the employer match, and pension with no aspirations of making MD. Just me, or anyone else feel the same?

Would you rather negotiate a higher base or would equity with vesting period be equally cool? Anything else to consider on this topic? Getting offer from PWC cyber for SM-2 that is $195k. Seems low, anyone now the SM-2 salary range

1. Salesforce (Acumen) - senior consultant (mulesoft) - 140k base, no RSUs or bonus. perks include all that Salesforce has including espp. Next promo manager and will be granted RSUs. They have filed my h1 so if I refuse now it ll be reneging.
2. Pwc - Manager 2, FS - mulesoft (cloud computing) . Next level is SM. TC 150k. Joining Bonus 25k * Annual Bonus 0%
3. Wipro 145k base (leaning no)
4. Deloitte- consultant (cloud ) 135k base, joining bonus 20k , annual Bonus 15% (leaning no)

I hate the sales side of consulting and want to exit before I make SM where I know I’ll have to focus on this more and internal initiatives, which I have zero interest in.
