Would getting only "partially at next level" in whole leadership hold up your promotion to manager?
Confession - I don't want to go back to office. I'm happy working from home and find no solid reason in stepping back. I hope the flexi work culture allows permanent WFH - I don't have a "good enough" reason, but I don't want to go (isn't this good enough?) It's been 1.5 years now, too comfortable to step out from my PJs to jeans.
How do you manage childcare expenses? My child is going into 4th grade and I still spend a good chunk of $$ on an after school sitter. I’m single and don’t have a significant other or family to help.

What are the salary levels in Big 4 consulting? From MBA stats, intro pay seems to be the same as MBB. But on FB, I’m seeing people say Manager level pay is lower than 1st year Consultant salary at MBB. Which is it?
Ever had an attorney randomly pull food that they somehow squished in their shoe during long court days. One day, it was taking forever in federal court due to the COVID backlog. An attorney was sitting at a table across from where I was sitting. Kept noticing him reaching down like he was scratching his foot then would bring his hand to his mouth. Very strange. Court concluded and I saw him by his car taking off his shoe and pulling a squished baggy with half a sandwich out of it.
SO and I are asking a weekend trip to San Diego from Chicago in early feb. Best SPG property? Don’t really care about luxury, more convenience and location. Also do we need a car? Thanks!

Curious to hear thoughts. How many rounds of interviews do you consider acceptable/helpful for a new role? And would you refuse an interview if it went beyond a certain number?
💳Credit card help💳 Starting a new job in two weeks. The new company does not give a corporate card, so I get to pick my own. If things were normal and I was traveling / spending as usual, getting the CSR or AMEX platinum would make sense. But with things the way they are, what should I do? Work related expenses will be minimal, but Im moving/furnishing an apartment so personal spend will be decent. TIA!
Is breaking into product management role in tech worth it ? I currently work as a IB, but sick of it and have a opportunity from a huge tech company. But they want me to come in as a junior PM. My colleagues would have 2-4 years experience. I have 8yrs exp and a masters. TC is ~200k, but would have to move to Bay Area. Am I too late to shift ? Would I hate Bay Area if I move from nyc ?
Serious question: how do you "become" a top performer in a company? I get why some are viewed as rock stars or go-getters, but not how they do it or drum up the top-level support for it. Whenever I press to kickstart initiatives or push in a certain direction, the leadership is never interested in the actions or ideas. Instead, we just get told to bill hours and keep our utilization high. It's demoralizing how there is no support or interest in people that try to develop new areas or initiatives

I'm contemplating having a kid every year just to get the maternity leave. 6 kids is probably worth not working a quarter of the year.
Does PwC offer salaries based on location? Would they offer higher salaries for NY compared to TX for the same position?
I went back to the office this month (3/4 days per week) and it’s been a positive experience. Plus it seems that some partners who are going in appreciated it. But the office is a 15 min drive away for me. Some people need to commute an hour plus to be there. Will they be at a disadvantage if they actually try to take advantage of hybrid WFH in the future?
Any plaid solutions engineers here or if anyone has interviewed for that position? I have my interview with hiring manager soon. I’d love to know what the nature of that interview will be. TIA! Plaid

How important is firm culture/WLB vs practice area? I’m a first year associate working for a firm I summered for. It’s a boutique tax firm with some civil litigation. I love the lit work (have always wanted to do litigation) but I truly hate the tax and corporate work. The WLB is really good though. My boss is generally pretty flexible with my hours, and understanding with family responsibilities (I’m a mom). I have a 1500 billable req and I work very well with my boss. Cont in comments.

Anyone know the comp for Accenture Talent & Organization Manager? DC Office. 5 years mix of consulting and industry w/MBA.
I haven’t been in audit for very long but I feel as though there’s a huge decline in the quality of my work. I think mostly caused by the huge amount of apathy I feel about the position. Things that would have taken me hours a couple months ago are taking days. Objectively I know my job isn’t the worst in the world but I am still struggling. The only part I enjoy about this job are my coworkers so I would hate for my apathy to negatively impact them. Should I quit? Or do you have other ideas?
