Why do I have to login my work email address or LinkedIn?

Fishbowl is a verified social network. Signing up with your company email or via LinkedIn is the most straightforward way to verify yourself as a professional, and allows you to easily connect with others from similar backgrounds.

Why isn’t my professional title approved yet?

Titles usually take 48-72 hours to become approved. If your title is still pending, please reach out to us at contact@fishbowlapp.com.

How do I change my company?

Professionals update their companies on Fishbowl for various reasons including leaving the company, layoffs, or starting a new business of their own.

You can change your current company through your Fishbowl profile by tapping the ‘Me’ icon on the bottom right corner of your feed. Once there, select the edit button on the top right corner of your profile. You will be required to verify your new employer through your LinkedIn or new work email address.

How do I change my identity preferences when I post?

Fishbowl makes it easy to change your identity preferences. Whenever you post, simply tap the icon on the left that indicates your current posting identity preference. Each icon will clearly identify what will be displayed when you post.

You can also confirm how you’re posting by referring to your Fishbowl Profile under the ‘Me’ icon on the bottom right corner of your feed.

Please contact our support team at contact@fishbowlapp.com and provide us a screenshot of what you’re seeing on your end, along with the kind of mobile device you’re using (iOS or Android) to access Fishbowl. This will help our Product team look into your situation more closely.

What do others see when I upvote a post or comment?

When you upvote a comment or a post, others will receive a notification similar to one of the following:

Someone at [Your Company Name] just upvoted your post

A [Your Fishbowl Title] just upvoted your post

[Your Name] just upvoted your post

How can I control my Fishbowl public profile?

Your public profile displays a simplified version of your profile. This public profile is visible to people outside of Fishbowl and on search engines.

Your public profile does not display:
- the posts you have created using a private identity.
- the Bowls that you are not a networking member of

You can control your public profile settings within the application by going to your Fishbowl profile by tapping 'Me' icon on the bottom right corner, and then tapping the Settings icon on the top right hand corner and selecting 'Privacy'.

If you set your profile to private, it will no longer be visible on Fishbowl, but could still appear in search results until the search engines discover that the profile is no longer available.

Can I invite people?

Certainly! You can now invite friends and colleagues within the app.

How do I deactivate my account?

You can deactivate your account within the application by going to your Fishbowl profile by tapping the ‘Me’ icon on the bottom right corner, and then tapping the Settings icon on the top right hand corner and selecting ‘Account.’
