Anyone else just super lonely? Even pre-covid I didn’t really do anything on the weekends with anyone. It is always embarrassing having to share weekend stories with coworkers.

Making friends in your late 20s is terribly difficult. Folks who remained close to college friends already seem to have their groups formed. Tips here? I’ve done the Rec sport league thing.

This is a big part of why I want to change cities. Fresh start. Clean slate.

During my team dinner I made a comment about how I wish my neighborhood had more police presence as I’ve had my second car break-in this year. I got a note later from the partner saying that comment was insensitive and I should refrain from that type of comment going forward.
My intention wasn’t political (eg I am not saying we should re-fund the police), I genuinely would like more police there so they can deter crime from happening. Should I explain myself or would that just make it worse?

How difficult is it to change jobs while on OPT STEM extension?

Class of 2020 had it the absolute hardest but ppl don’t realize the class of 2019 moved to big hub cities, lived our best lives, FINALLY adjusted to adulting and then everything drastically changed. Now so many of us who committed to living in big cities are 1) already scared of layoffs and 2) are in a predicament about whether to move home or resign leases. How do you follow up with a company you talked to a few months ago? Woman I spoke to was interested in my background, the but opening was not the best fit. She asked me to keep in touch and I want to.

Thoughts on upcoming travel ban for visa holders?

After 25 years as an Ultrasound Technologist, the company that I work for is no longer a place that is appreciative or supportive and doing what they can to cut hours, etc. I’d like to move on to another company or even another Healthcare related role, just as long as it is a happy, appreciative one. Though all of the search engines provide listings, hoping that y’all know a better means, or better, yet, word of mouth of such positions. I am on the border of MD, PA & DE so any are acceptable

Agree or disagree: only negotiate when you have written offer and not verbal ?

Why are people fulfilled with a fluffed up career?

1. Consultants. Specifically, management consultants. The rest are fine.

2. Product manager. If you can't explain what you do in 15 seconds, you really don't do anything. Product manager in an actual tech companies are exempted from this comment.

3. Project manager. The best teams self-organize and softwares are making it easier to self organize.

Non-accountants always tell me, "I couldn't be an accountant. I'm not good with numbers." What does that even mean? When you get a bill for $500 do you pay $5k? Accountants aren't rocket scientists

At OW, how does MBA sponsorship work at the firm in North America? For example, how long do you need to stay at the firm after graduation, eligibility requirements, etc.
