Associate to sr director seems like a stretch. The market is also telling you that. If it’s just for practice at the end of the day take the interviews. Do you have extensive 2nd line mgr experience? If not, sr director is probably not going to happen.

Target highly quantitive IC roles in tech (eg DS) you should easily be able to clear 300k and possibly up to 400k. Sure the title isn’t fancy but the pay is good.
I agree with BCG1. Try a role in Quant and you can get 300K+
Depending on the size & industry, director/sr director can be quite different. That said, typically for F100/500 (maybe?) a jump from asso to (sr) director is a stretch as that's typically what's seen for EM exit opps.
Even if you may be a junior EM right now, it's a stretch. The expectations of the role and managing managers, etc... is a gap not many large orgs can swallow. SM roles for asso exits seem quite standard.
To add to my post - my prior experience was in a highly quantitative role. I have a STEM undergrad from a top school but no MBA. I’m doing well at McK and there’s a significant (70-80%) chance I end up staying through to EM and potentially AP. But I want to practice the interview skills and could potentially make a jump for the right combination of WLB/comp/excitement.
