I'm frustrated. Everywhere I've worked I've gotten great reviews and even leadership awards. At my last company my boss was promoted to CAO. She hired a director but made her VP of HR at hire due to someone leaving. VP ran 6 HR directors out of the co (we all left without jobs lined up). After I left my team quit & the CAO was fired. Now they promoted this VP to a Sr VP. I gave so much, got nothing, yet she fell into SVP. I have a new Director level job. How do I break into the VP level?
I’m considering making a career switch to HR (in Canada). Do I need to get any professional certifications or go back to school?

What is a competitive OTE for first time Director of Enterprise Sales? 15 yoe. Enterprise AE for the last 9ish years. Also a bit concerned about overall income. Last 3+ years have been very good. Part of me worries that overall money will go down while work level will go up significantly. Any guidance from those who have gone through this appreciated.
Anyone have any advice on how to break into customer success? I've been a BDR for over 2 years now, and I've learned a lot from that role. My next step I feel is a CSM or CSA. I am more of a farmer than a hunter and I'm very customer-centric. I find my strengths are in CS but it seems like you need experience within CS to break into CS. Any tips or referrals? Thanks!
Thoughts on cold calling (linked in mail) potential employers? Context: I’m looking for new opportunities and there is an agency I admire and want to drop their head of department a message to express interest in any future opportunities. Is this OK?

Realizing that my favorite part of my job is when I'm on the bench and not staffed. I'm taking that as a sign that consulting probably isn't for me anymore.

Interested in getting into management/leadership type role, my experience has strictly been in underwriting. Only prior management experience was fast food joint I worked at in college. Looking for tips/tricks on how to get there. Any special designations other than CPCU to get? It would probably be easier to get into it at my current company as they know I’m a leader, but what about if I wanted to go external?
I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

Let's assume you can do a great job on interviews and coding tests etc. If you want to get a software job in Google or other FAANG companies, what else do you think you need? Does your degree need to be from a high ranking school? Masters degree? Be coming from another "prestigious" company? Need to know someone? Besides interviewing and code testing skills, what makes people stand apart enough to get those jobs? I mean it's very competitive right? Facebook (Meta) Amazon Apple Netflix
