Any moms have the Caraa baby bag? FTM here and debating between the large vs medium. Large seems pretty big but not sure what to expect with first baby and how much I will need to lug! Just wanted to see if there were any opinions!

I don’t have one, but I suggest the bigger size. You’re going to be lugging a ton of stuff. I don’t have this either, but really like the Fawn Design bag!

I’ll just throw out that for me, I just fill the available space. If I had a bigger bag, I would just fill it up. Babies, especially newborns don’t need that much. Diapers, wipes, change of clothes - doesn’t really take much space!

I have not used Caraa, but I got something gifted during baby shower by another mommy who used the same bag. I am a total fan of this one. My baby is 2 now and the bag has seen rough times and it is still brand new and it holds everything that I ever need. I will share the Amazon link if you want. This is just under 40 bucks

We have this one too! Works great

A contrarian view here: we didn’t buy a diaper bag and didn’t look back. We’ve been using my MZ Wallace tote and we don’t even fill it up. All we take are a few diapers, some wipes, and that skip hop changing pad thing (which is far too bulky).

I agree you don’t actually need a diaper bag! The only real benefit to a diaper bag that I’ve found is they have nice pockets to hold bottles upright if you are bottle feeding. We also don’t bring along the diaper changing pad unless we know for a fact we would need it… maybe at the beach for example?

Found a niche in my legal practice and have been giving presentations, doing client development and working hard to create a space for myself. I’ve partnered with various mid and senior partners on some of these presentations, but I write the script, did the prep work, and have the case experience. One mid partner was asked to present my presentation at a conference taking place during my upcoming maternity leave. He readily accepted then called me to make sure I don’t mind him recycling….

Just heard that my district will have classroom and live-recording learning. I’m thankful because I now can feed my family, my newborn and a recent-sponsored wife! I’m scared because I’m almost 50 and I’m afraid I might catch the virus and die leaving behind my 1 month baby and a wife who is not legal in the state yet! The USCIS or Trump’s dept. thinks she’s not good enough to be in the US!! We applied for green card and SS card since August 2019!

Good morning and welcome to my home office! I've got my coffee and am looking forward to responding to your questions with Zoe and Ron. I was raised by a single parent in upstate NY (far from NYC!). I've had to ask a lot of questions in my career and look forward to hearing yours!

Should synthetic abortion be a thing? I.e. it is made legal for a man to declare before a judge that he wants no part in a child’s life prior to the child being born. He then has no requirement to pay child support but will also never have the right to see the child. Essentially, it’s abortion from the male side. If both man and woman are required to create a pregnancy, but only the woman gets a say after that if the child will be born, is that fair to the man?

Sooo my nanny fell asleep holding the baby. My husband and I work from home. So, he walked in, saw them and put the baby in the crib. Ask: Any advice on how to address this with the nanny? Also, it it a fire able offense? Context: Nanny started full time on 1/24; baby is not quite 5 months old; we are WFH and have cameras installed that are visible (she should know they exist); first time having a nanny

Anyone in the US - has anyone been successfully negotiated an offer while being pregnant? How did the recruiter and the team take it? At what point did you share the news?

Funny experience - I was in the line at a craft store and started chatting with the people around me. Person in front of me was annoyed about having to craft valentines for her kid's class. Person behind me was getting a late start on his kid's science project. They asked me what I was in for. Me: oh I don't have kids, so I'm picking up a new hobby (watercoloring). Them: oh. You must have a lot of free time and money huh. Me: yeah it's pretty great 😃👍

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

I am struggling with my role& supervisor. Few months ago I was asked to take on someone else’s responsibilities as they went on maternity leave, I took those on on top of my full-time role andI excelled. I went above and beyond and outperformed what was asked of me. Instead of getting any sort of recognition for this I was instead told to stay in my lane even though I was tasked with this work. feeling undervalued, anytime I try to meet with my supervisor it’s canceled. It’s been since March!

For those of you working from home, do you know whether your coworkers will be throwing a baby shower for you? I feel like without being visibly pregnant to most people (since we are not in the office), I feel like I’m going to miss out on having one which is kind of a bummer since I’ve always gotten gifts for others.

Did anyone disappoint their parent(s) when deciding to work in advertising?

For those of you with really large student loans, what is your strategy? I’ve been setting aside cash in a savings account during the pause. I currently have close to $100k. My student loan balance is $232k. I had been planning to make a lump sum payment at the end of the pause, but was recently encouraged to use part of it for a down payment on a house (I’m in a secondary market, but make BL scale). I want my loans gone, but I am now second guessing my original aggressive strategy.

Looking for advice. I’m a sr. associate in cyber at a Big 4 on track for a promo to manager in a year. My old employer reached out to me about coming back as an Assoc. Dir., BISO. Concern is that this BISO role would not have bonuses (nonprofit), so I’d potentially be “throwing away” $ by leaving consulting now. Would opps later on be better having had an associate director role on my résumé before I’m 30? Should I stick it out in consulting? The job is a dream, but short term $ is def less.
