Does standing all day (standing desk) impact knee/ankle joints?
I started standing up and working a lot more last week and now I have my knee hurts, my ankle joint hurts. Not sure if it's related? Thinking if I should head to a chiropractor to see what's up?

Chiropractors are not real doctors.

The weight gain and generally inactivity definitely may have a part to play, but exercise is really the most effective long term solution. Making the muscles around the knees stronger. Hope you feel better.

Definitely get a standing desk mat! You’ll need it for your knee/ankle joints. Wearing shoes should also help

like

Standing desk mat is essential! Not using one will have so many long term (and short term) health issues :)

Get a bean bag. You can nap and work and nap and nap and work and that circle goes on.

Back support?

Yes, it does. It’s best to alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day. And definitely wear supportive shoes, you don’t want to end up with plantar fasciitis or similar. A good chiropractor can definitely help you, just do your research first because there’s a lot of scammy ones out there. I love the two that I’ve had.

like

What kinds of shoes are you wearing? You need comfortable shoes. Also look into a standing desk mat.

Yeah sounds like it. Try working in your most comfy sneakers. I bet you’ll notice a difference.

like

Get a mat and wear shoes. Also you’re not meant to stand the whole day try alternating every hour. Watch hour posture when your standing

Do you have flat feet?

Ooooh, yeah, looks like flat feet for me!

like

Get a memory foam floor mat to stand on.

It will make you sore if you jump into it full bore. You need to gradually increase the time you stand. Also make sure you are not hyper extending your knees while standing for long periods of time. Cushioning is important, and for me, temperature. If the floor is cold, it hurts my feet. Good luck!

One year ago this weekend my mother was dying of Covid 2000 miles away from me. On Mother's Day we were told to make a decision to either consent to an invasive surgery that may do nothing or put her on hospice. She died on her own while my siblings and I tried to decide. Anyone have three kids and working in big law? I just found out I’m pregnant with no. 3 and it’s been a lot trying to juggle morning sickness, but based on my experience, I know this is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come. My husband and I are elated, but the anxiety of being a mom of 3 kids and working in big law is preventing me from truly enjoying this news. It would be good to know what it’s really like having 3 kids so that I can evaluate how long I really have left in big law.

Hello Fishes, its really strange to ask but I have no option left.
I have almost 2 years of gap in my career due to medical issues, but not its recovered and I am trying to rejoin again. I applied to so many places but has been seeing only rejections either due to gap and either due to my over qualification.
I am truly tired of applying and waiting for their call back and reverts, Its like getting into depression slowly slowly.
Is their any place where I can get hired soon. Please help me.

How do you keep all of your notes-to-self organized? Not actual work product or drafts, but the kinds of things you jot down in meetings or as you’re working (e.g., “client prefers DE choice of law over NY” or “x agreement is best example of negotiated MSA”). I’m using OneNote, but I’m curious how others do it.

Bonus points if you have ADHD and you use this type of thing as a lifeline 🙃
