Have a trip planned to Japan in a few weeks with my SO. With everything happening with Coronavirus, would you still take it or cancel? (We’ve been looking forward to it for months)

Cancel.

Go. Japan is fastidious about cleanliness and cultural niceties (like wearing masks when sick). You’ll be fine and if anything will have slightly fewer other tourists to deal with.

I had planned a girlfriends trip to Japan for April. We were about to book reward points travel end of January and have held off 3 weeks debating due to coronavirus. But it’s gonna be a no from me now dawg. I traveled internationally during the 2009 bird flu stuff and paid no mind. This seems different to me. And I don’t trust the Chinese government to be truthful about the impact on the ground there. I don’t want to get any closer than I have to be. West coast travel is close enough for me right now!

I’d cancel. You’d be walking on eggshells the whole time and might have a hard time getting back if shit hits the fan while you’re there.

Japan, Korea and China should be avoided right now. The handling of the Princess Diamond cruise was/is very poor.

I was in Japan just 2 days back. Things are pretty normal there and under control. Just make sure to wear your mask and use hand sanitizer.

Personally I’d cancel because I’d be worried the entire time and wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself. For what it’s worth, I know someone who works for a fairly large Japanese company and they’ve advised everyone to work from home until further notice, and if they must go to the office, to only travel at non peak times and wearing masks is mandatory at the office at all times. If you feel like you’d still be able to enjoy yourself, just be smart about hygiene like wear a mask, wash hands often, don’t touch your face, etc. I saw on the news that a lot of tourist attractions are quite empty, so that’s a plus

Someone I know had a destination wedding planned in Asia and moved the entire destination to avoid the situation. As much as you have been looking forward to it, in my view, not worth risking health over it.

Only the media is blowing it up, Go. Just practice safe hygiene. This is coming from someone that was in Asia a couple weeks ago...

I have family in Cambodia and Thailand right now and they are not worried. Also said everything is much less busy than usual.

My portfolio is poised for Corona slump so go for it. Not hoping you get it, just hoping you help scare the market some more ;-)

Anyone else really impressed w/ Cuomo of how he's handling NYC? Love the directness of his approach & how well he articulated his plan of action. No masks-let's sew some! No sanitizer-let's make some!

I hope Congress will put aside their hatred & pride & do what is best for the country now. I'm tired of rich people like Nancy Pelosi playing games with the country & my life. They work for us .......
