I'm a recent grad who accepted an entry-level full-time job offer with Capital One. Case load= malpractice? Small plaintiff’s firm of 25 attorneys. I was a 2 year associate hired and given 50 active files in pre litigation status. 9 mos later a partner quit and I inherited 45 more. I got up to 105 files. Now I hover at 85 active files in varying stages of pre lit. I asked managing partner for help and was told to settle more claims to lessen my load. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB.
