My company gives annual raises at the beginning of the year except one year during Covid. I’m grateful for that but the raises are so little that it doesn’t really affect my income in a big way. How do I go about negotiating for a higher raise?

It does sound like your company uses those tiny minimal annual raises as a method to keep you guys from asking for what you deserve. I would just approach the conversation the way you would any other salary negotiation. Prepare an argument as to why you deserve a raise and everything you do for the company and present that to your manager. Maybe wait like two or more months after you get your annual raise. Give yourself a little buffer there.

Wow thank you for your advice. I will be using this method because my previous method hasn’t been working so much. I do believe that is what they are doing to keep us but I deserve more than the minimum raises they give us especially in this economy.
