Have a few Informational interviews with private credit secondaries in Canada. Background is MBB and would be interviewing for ASC role on strategic management team. Any help on answers to: 1/ why credit secondaries 2/ why PE 3/why now 4/ why strategic management team would be appreciated!

I’ve done 7 live cases and general read up over the last month and one of the MBB’s recruiting has opened in my city. Is it worth applying, rather than waiting when im more ready but risk missing the window for hiring?

3YOE in MBB with a PhD background. Weighing in 2 offers: 1/ Associate director role with base salary 200K in R&D (TC 1st year ~310K) 2/ Director of corporate strategy (no offers yet). What are the associated Pros/Cons? What are the exit opportunities? Is there a space to negotiate the first option?

Why is it whenever you call someone out who works at an MBB firm, their auto-defense mechanism is to say "sorry you couldn't get into my firm!"? Seems like they're always the most elitist

Are MBB consultants feeling the pressure of a slower environment and softer labor market in terms of more hours of work required and less ability to push back?

I've been at mid size growing healthcare strategy consulting firm for the past two years (post MBA) and have seen rapid growth and am expecting a EM equivalent role here in the next six months.
However I understand that my comp is below market - 30% below MBB and 10-15% below ZS/LEK.

Hi Fishbowl. Are there any 'best' recruiting firms/practices in UK? Specifically if looking MBB/Tier 1 role as lateral hire with 1YOE.

I’m in a T2 strategy house (do mix of corp strategy and CDDs) and am interested to move into PE/VC or IB in the future. I know I’m in an entry level position but when do people start looking to move across (i.e manager and above?) Is it best trying to go to MBB first? Do KT roles grow into the expert track? The most senior KT roles I ever see are like 6 YOE. I’m pretty aware of the KT teams positioning in MBB, but don’t really understand the growth trajectory. Anyone able to help me out - I’ve exhausted my google searching abilities. Thanks!

Has anyone exited without a job lined up? 2nd year MBB associate and don’t want to make manager….and health has deteriorated too much to continue this job. I have some conversations and interviews through my network lined up but am budgeting upto 6 months.

The other consideration is that I’m halfway through a graduate program. It’s part-time so I’ve been going slow but could overload a few credits for the months I’m not employed and stay busy. Could use that as bridge on resume…thoughts?

random question - any fishes know of those students from M7 grads who get full time offers from MBB, how many are returning interns from summer? I know this stat isn’t officially available but any good guesstimates?

I tried to punch through the roof of my car 12 years ago and crushed my fist against the steel chassis. I have had nerve damage all the way up to my jaw and a locked jaw since. And basically the right side of my body is useless. I’m happy to say today I got into MBB. Let’s see what else I can do with only one good side of my body.
