Depends on your personal life. Would it benefit by the $12k? When I went to industry I got a little bit of a bump, but it would have been worth a cut looking back. I was married shortly after leaving Public and I'm fully convinced if I would have stayed I'd still be single...15 years later. My hubby and children were worth it to me.

Completely depends on your financial situation. Would your lifestyle, savings goals, etc. take a major hit with the drop in pay or would it be noticeable without being detrimental? That's your weighing metric for the "worth it" decision for a healthier work-life balance. If I was making $100k and could get a substantially better quality of life for $88k I would do it. Granted, I always live well beneath my means so that drop would be easily adjusted to my monthly budget. However, if I was making $70k that drop to $58k would be much tougher to manage.
You need to say how much you are making to put the 12k in context. If you’re making 70k vs 140 that’s a different situation entirely.
I would be hesitant to believe any role at a firm that is an external facing role would guarantee no overtime. Reality is clients get you PBCs late or have other issues that impact deadlines. And I’ve never heard of any firm that is going to tell a client “you gave us what we needed late so your report/ work will be delayed several weeks because we don’t want our people working over 40 hours”.
Do the math in otherwords, you should know how to figure out if 12k will affect your net check much. Do a pro con list, do the math. If you want more of a work life balance, there are going to be sacrifices.
Can you make it work on the lower salary?
Looks like you options might be take the lower paying job for better WLB, or keep the higher paying job and be stressed and burned out. You can keep looking with either option.
