Why is it always the same story with sale items? One person wipes out the entire stock, and we’re the ones left answering, ‘When are you getting more in?’ A woman took 40 jars of pasta sauce yesterday. FORTY. The best part? A guy at checkout straight-up called her out. Kind of wish I could’ve joined in.

At my most recent retail job, I got accused of committing "Lost Leaders" on behalf of the retailer because a customer literal moments before bought several - probably a dozen - large trays of ground beef (it was a very cheap price, especially with how expensive beef is nowadays).

We ended up getting my dept. manager, my assistant manager, and the store manager involved because this lady was in hysterics that we had no more large trays of beef. She only wanted the one variety we had on sale. Refused to accept any substitutes, or even an indefinite raincheck on the item (despite that we had overnight deliveries).

Don't people limit quantities on sale items? We always do that. We've stopped people from buying an entire shelf of items. Some characters will go put what they buy in their car and then come back in. It's always kind of amazing how people will just totally degrade themselves to get a buck off something. I mean, I like being thrifty myself, but there's also having some self-respect.

I had a guy come in and buy every last bottle of discounted hand sanitizer. This was way after all the covid panic buying. He looked around and said I'll just take ‘em all, because no one else needs them. And I'm thinking about saying Sir, that’s not how grocery stores work! But I didn't.

These people are ridiculous. I love the other customer for calling her out. Someone needs to do it, and you know it can't be us..

After COVID and scarce shelves; just a guess, people started stock piling. It's one thing to run out of toilet paper & paper towels however, it's another thing to RUN- OUTTA-THE-SAUCE!!!

HAHAHAH this made me laugh because its so true. I don't understand why people get themselves into such a tizzy over these things either.

We would allow it at the place I worked but then kindly said that they will need to call ahead of time to do a special order and we will have it waiting for them at customer service.
