What’s Changing in SAP Certification : From Theory to Prove-by-Doing

Here’s the thing — SAP just reimagined certification to reward real skill, not memorization. What this really means is you can prove you can do the work, stay current, and show it with a verifiable badge.

The new practical, performance-based exams are starting their initial rollout now (November 2025). This new format is initially required for first-time certification takers.

Compliance meets self-service:
Employee-initiated I-9 corrections

New hires can now start a correction to Section 1 themselves inside Onboarding, add a reason, and send it to HR for review. That means fewer tickets, cleaner audit trails, and faster fixes before E-Verify even starts.

Why it matters
👉 Fewer back-and-forth emails; HR reviews instead of chasing.
👉 Better data quality → fewer E-Verify hiccups.
👉 Clear responsibility: employee fixes, HR controls the approval.

Goodbye passwords! Hello Passkeys in SuccessFactors (via SAP IAS)

Pixel Perfect Talent Card (PPTC) is reaching its limits.

In the new People Profile 2025 refresh, PPTC is not supported — and while SAP has paused full deprecation, the direction is clear: customers need to prepare for alternatives.

So what can Talent teams use instead?

✔️ People Analytics Stories → on-demand talent dashboards with filters and comparisons.
✔️ Presentations → build dynamic, shareable templates with live employee data (bios, ratings, successors, goals).

It’s official: SAP has completed the SmartRecruiters acquisition.

What this really means: SmartRecruiters recruiting experience and AI will plug into SAP SuccessFactors to speed time-to-hire, lift candidate experience, and deepen analytics,while current SR customers keep the option to use it with SAP or other HCM’s.
