Can confirm I found out about this and was shocked! I can’t wait to get out of here
Lol with all the places looking don’t go to that one!
Evoke is hiring at all levels
Have friends who work there who said it was kinda mercenary. And the "cushion" was 2 weeks which is pretty awful of them. Maybe something to do with their CFO getting fired for mismanagement? @director 1, they've been talking a big DEI game and it sounded impressive, but from what I'm told it's all optics and platitudes. Mile wide, inch deep. If anyone knows what type of positions were eliminated today can you post so we can share any open roles that fit the bill?
I don’t know beyond the social/paid activation team, but in that team, 2/3 of those let go were POC.
I’ve heard a lot of POC…. Not a good look for an agency always talking about their diversity “efforts”. Just avoid this agency altogether - I’ve heard horror stories.
So many horror stories. Female social director hired a male because she thought he would be a good f**k. POC put together on the same team because they would get along better. On and on.
So sorry to those who were laid off. Unfortunately, I’m not entirely surprised. I’ve always wondered how they could possibly keep up with the salaries they were paying people. I work on the talent side and they hired several people from us, throwing crazy money at them (e.g. hiring an SAE for $90k+). They were paying people way above market rates and giving people bumps in titles that they weren’t qualified for. Their hiring strategy worked because a lot of people followed the money, but we didn’t understand how it would be sustainable. I guess it wasn’t. ☹️ Sorry to hear this. I’ll be reaching out to all of you that I know to see how I can help.
Their pay has been above market for at least a few years now, long before Covid. Once they get the golden handcuffs on you it makes it hard to leave and go elsewhere for less money, especially at the junior and mid levels. We haven’t lost too many people to W2O recently, but at the start of Covid they were offering people roles 1-2 levels above the level they were currently performing at.
DM me! We’ve got hundreds of openings at IPG health.
Literally 700 plus openings across all disciplines. DM for direct exposure.
Damn how did I not know this? Am I updating my resume right now? Yep
If your team wasn’t directly impacted, I don’t think anyone was informed.
I hate business. A 61% rise during covid just means pressure to do “better” the next year.
They’ve been on a buying spree so that makes sense. Did they lose an account?
The fact that they’re still actively recruiting and senior execs are sharing roles they have open on their teams on LinkedIn (posted ATTER the layoffs) is nauseating.
Wow - any reason why? Seems odd considering how much they had been hiring in 2020 - and as you referenced, their growth.
Area 23 is hiring. Please reach out, I have room on my teams
Sorry to hear this. We are hiring at all levels in health too. Please PM to learn more
Weber Shandwick is hiring at all levels as well.
We are hiring too! Lots of different positions across all of our offices. Reach out, I can share the scoop! https://www.fingerpaint.com/careers
I’m an account leader at Area 23 and have openings for account people. Anyone looking feel free to message me to set up an intro conversation
The Bloc’s also hiring across all disciplines if anyone needs a lead.
I don’t think so.
Looking for account directors here if anyone from w2o wants to PM..
We are also hiring
Is it that bad? Was thinking of coming over as a creative. Let me know, please!
We are hiring like crazy. If you’re impacted by this and looking shoot me a note.
