Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. For people who’ve moved on to industry, does it feel…less social? I felt like it was easy to make friends (or network), even with people on the client-side, when I was in consulting. Now, especially with everyone being virtual, I feel disconnected. It also seems a lot more competitive; people would rather bring you down than work together. Am I just at a company with a toxic culture? Or was consulting just a post-grad fraternity?

Posting on behalf of a friend: A friend has the 1st round interview with Meta coming up. They would have two 45-minute rounds, according to the recruiter. Round (1) SQL and programming language, with SQL taking precedence. Round (2) ETL and data modeling.

Any tips/suggestions/guidance/study materials for preparation is appreciated.
