I'm entirely intrigued!
I've thought for a long time that many people consider Jesus the same way that Jews view Jesus. I realize, being raised Catholic, that this is obviously not in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church, for example, but I think it's a more widely-held view than you'd think. I look forward to learning from this great new conversation.
If you’re suggesting that those who are not Christian generally view Jesus as an influential Jewish sage, I’d have to agree . I’ve often heard/read a version of that opinion expressed.
Additionally, I like to say that all Christians, (Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestants) would differ from that view, not exclusively Catholics.
I am genially interested in other educators opinions on faith. I believe in being inclusive and celebrating cultures and faiths. There is a right to say, “I disagree. Or “That is not who I am.” I am open minded. I will not participate when individuals say that they are offended and it will cause them to berate a culture or faith.
We are educators. Let us show our students that we are civil humans. We can learn from each other.
